  1. If you’re into envelope filters, It’s a no brainer.
  2. Ah. Sorry, I didn’t read your post accurately enough! I’ve never played an original Bass Station so can’t really comment. As for the size of the Mini vs MicroBrute, see the below photo and draw your own conclusions: Keys-wise, the Monologue’s are more playable than the MicroBrute’s...but neither are full sized. The Monologue has a somewhat unconventional E-to-E layout though, which may not matter to you if you aren’t already a keys player to any degree. In a way, if you’re purely a bassist/guitarist, the E-to-E layout of the Monologue makes a lot of sense.
  3. Firstly, to get it out of the way, all 3 sound pretty good. I won’t comment on th quality of sound as they each have a fairly distinct character. I’ll leave that decision up to you. Having said that... If it were me, I’d go with the Novation Bass Station 2 all day long. My immediate reasons being that it’s the only one of the three you’ve mentioned with full sized keys - and those keys have a nicer action than the other two as well. Believe me, when playing anything even remotely dexterous, you’ll appreciate the full sized keybed. Also, Novation are developing a bit of a legendary reputation for product support. They’ve recently released another update for the BS2 unlocking even more functionality. Bear in mind that this is a non-flagship synth released in 2013. That in itself is impressive. As far as controls, they’re all intuitive enough. Nice knobby layouts all round which is great. However, of the three, the Arturia MicroBrute is the only one without any way of saving presets. You’ll have to remember the settings for all the sounds you create, which may force it into the “never to be used live” pile for you!
  4. +1 to this. I’ve just bought one as it can accommodate my (very) offset Wingbass.
  5. One of the best filters around! Truly filthy. GLWTS
  6. Just bought a Hercules Mini stand from Marvin. Super easy to deal with from start to finish. Prompt postage and a great price. Thanks!
  7. No, they actually dyed it blue by mistake! But after some negotiation I got Andy to agree to do the purple that I originally wanted - it’s not officially offered as an option so it required a bit of improvisation on their end but I love how it’s turned out.
  8. Gahhhh! They totally nailed it! So excited.
  9. +1 to all of the above, Bright Onion are excellent. Got 1 standard and 2 custom pedals made for a very reasonably price a couple of years back. Fantastic service from start to finish!
  10. @project_c where do you you buy your d’addario tapes from?
  11. I feel like if/when I finally get a proper jazz-type bass, I may put flats on the J and keep rounds on my P(s)!
  12. I’ve played a couple before and thought they were great! To be honest I am a big fan of Lakland basses - their necks are a really comfortable profile (for me) with a matte/satin finish which I much prefer over gloss. Also, with the 44-64 you get the bridge J pickup if you need that versatility. Lovely basses IMO.
  13. Ha! I was gonna say if you ever get bored of your Super J5 (or 4) let me know I don’t think I’ll be letting go of my Super P though - it’s the best bass I’ve ever played!
  14. Seeing all these basses in left handed orientation is giving me a new appreciation of body shapes I’ve always taken for granted 🤔
  15. Beautiful! Love the look of them. I’d like a matching Super J to go with my Super P!
  16. Ooh, do you have a photo of your Super J? I’ll show you mine if you show me yours?
  17. I was so busy drooling I didn’t even realise they were left handed
  18. @blablas are they all yours?!
  19. And there I was hoping they’d be affordable! No such luck...
  20. Delicious. You should call her “Andy’s Candy”
  21. Oh man that looks phenomenal! Reminds me of Carey Nordstrand’s gold P bass:
