Adore the tone of that Cutlass, though I prefer the body shape of the Caprice. Still, the Cutlass is another example of Musicman cannibalising their own model names and causing confusion yet again - see Musicman Sterling vs Sterling by Musicman

Sage advice. Every time I unlock my phone I check the Facebook Marketplace!

FWIW, they’ve slimmed down the headstock on newer Sandbergs. That said, I’ve never noticed neck dive on mine. I haven’t exactly done thorough tests on this though...I wear fairly grippy straps and never really take my left hand off the neck of the bass while playing!
-
Yep, that’s exactly the one I’ve got.

I have an Electra VS4 (old shape) and can confidently say it's worth every penny and then some. Mine is pretty flawless. I've recently sold my California VM5 but still have my Electra VS4 - I don't feel like the Electra is a worse bass in any way at all, hence my guilt-free sale of the VM5! Mine also happens to be super light and sounds glorious to my ears. Ive had it modded with a passive tone knob on top of the existing stock 2 band EQ. Also had the neck finish taken down from the original gloss to a more preferable (for me) satin matte feel. It's currently my only 4 string and I can't fault it!

Truth.I will never be as technical a bass player as Henrik is but absolutely love him and Dirty Loops. Monster players, all of them!

Is it bad that I want one of these stands?? -
Surely winging it will be fine if it’s not a public venue? Assuming there’s no money being made by the party organisers, I.e. it’s not a ticketed event? I could be completely wrong of course...

Look at Payson strings. They make “Dingwall-friendly” sets! There are some on this page: http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Dingwall_strings.html It can be tough finding sets that work due to the extra scale length of the NG/Combustion series. Thankfully I have a Super P which only fans from 32” - 35” so I can use any “normal” long scale string sets!
-
Nice. Sounds like you have a little bit of overdrive engaged but I suspect it’s just some string clank fooling my ears!
-
That is grim.

NBD! Dingwall DBird Standard... is it blue or is it purple?!

Also, am I the only one who actually prefers the painted on pickguard of the D-Bird Standard vs the solid Wenge pickguard on the Canadian D-Bird Customs?? Also prefer the choice of colours on the Standards vs the Customs!- 33 replies

What model is that? I’ve just been on the TC Electronic website and can’t see any powered cabs? As far as I can see, they do a few 2x10 bass combos but nothing that would be considered FRFR.

Ray Ross saddle-less bridge... anyone got one?

I haven’t read the Talkbass thread but it looks like strings with silks at the ball end may have issues here? Flat/tapewounds for example? -
I can definitely see myself using the DC4 as a desktop power supply connected to the Thunderbolt 3/USB-C port on my laptop! Hoping for a price in the sub-£100 region for that. The DC7 definitely won’t be cheap. Edit: the Eventide PowerMax looks to be a slightly modified version of the Cioks DC7. I was looking at both when I wanted to power my HX Stomp off a pedalboard friendly PSU.
