  1. You signature is very much out of date! Give the ol’ girl an update Bas! Your current lineup is totally different from what’s listed 😅
  2. Looking at this again makes me feel queasy
  3. I have to agree with everything mentioned above. The best B strings in my arsenal are on my (very recently acquired) Dingwall Super P and my MTD Kingston Super 5. Not entirely sure what string are on the Dingwall as I only got it 2 days ago but it’s taper-wound. The neck is a maple laminate (5 piece I believe) with bolt-on construction. The Hipshot ultralite tuners have been recessed into the headstock to provide an even greater break angle at the nut. The clarity of notes on the B string is pretty incredible! The MTD takes an honourable 2nd place. Bolt-on neck, one piece maple this time, Dunlop Superbright Nickels, angled headstock. As @FDC484950 says, it’s crucial that the bass has been designed with a low B in mind!
  4. I just bought a Dingwall Super P5 from Lorenzo and it was such an easy, stress-free process. Good price, nice guy and a lovely instrument. Pleasure doing business with you!
  5. Got to be a creative burst over some nicely figured wood grain. Bursts of all colours are welcome to me.
  6. Agreed with @NikNik - they’re great value for money. I have a set on one of my 5 string P basses and they have a nice thump without being lacking in clarity. They don’t feel like suspension bridge cables either, which is nice!
  7. You mean your D’addarios feel too stiff? I’ve got a set of Labella Black Nylon tapes on one of my basses and they’re very light/low tension in feel. Forces me to use a lighter touch and makes me play differently, which I enjoy.
  8. Definitely The Gallery. Wunjo is a good shop generally speaking but they don’t have very many amps in comparison.
  9. Whoa, that is a bloody bargain I paid £689 for mine and I’d pay it again. A Super P bass with bonus tones.
  10. For tapping, you’ll definitely see benefits with wraps. I’m sure you’ll love them!
  11. I owned one of these for a few weeks before switching to the Double Four. Unfortunately, though it is a nice piece of kit, the Yamaha THR10 just won’t cut it - especially if you want a satisfying low B sound. It’s a nice little desktop practise amp, but I feel it’s best suited primarily to guitarists who maybe dabble in a little bit of bass playing from time to time. For the same money as the THR you could just get a decent little combo used.
  12. Ah, in that case, I agree wholeheartedly!
  13. What do you mean by standard?
  14. Is that an internal power supply I see...? Amongst other connections I’m attempting to identify!
  15. Seems like the stalks are too long? Looks a bit weird!

Oh my god. I know it’s a cliché but if this were a 5 string I would be aggressively throwing money at you
  17. Ah, thanks for clarifying. So there’s now no tone shaping control?
