  1. @AndyTravis that candy orange is pornographic! Looks phenomenal.
  2. Great shots!
  3. You won’t be disappointed sir.
  4. I suspect the issue here is that typically, on any digital multi FX, the presets are never great. And especially with a product like Helix where there is so much tweakability, testing it in a shop is really not the best environment to get the best out of it. It can take a bit of leisurely time to learn the ins and outs of what’s possible within the UI and get creative with routing and tweaking to get something truly stellar (as @GisserD has discovered) but “stellar” is totally within the realms of what Helix is capable of. Anyway, you’ve obviously already made your mind up on the matter so who am I to try and convince you otherwise
  5. Good lord. At this price I’m tempted to buy it back!
  6. I suppose an audio interface with 2 headphone outs would roughly do the trick, but you’d then be tethered to a computer/laptop and do you really need another audio interface? 🤷🏾‍♂️ https://www.gear4music.com/Recording-and-Computers/Focusrite-Scarlett-6i6-2nd-Gen-Box-Opened/1YAB
  7. Through desktop speakers? Headphones? Earbuds?
  8. The octaver that’s based on the EBS Octabass is surprisingly decent, although it won’t be replacing my analogue octavers. As for the filters, the best one IMO is “Autofilter” which isn’t modelled on an existing pedal (it’s a Line 6 Original) but the level of adjustability is quite impressive. There are loads of parameters to satisfy the keenest filter tweaker (I’m thinking of you @Quatschmacher) The other day I managed to get quite a nasty gated fuzz-driven synthy filter patch with a Clawthorn overdrive going into the Autofilter and the noise gate on the input block set fairly tight. Chucked a chorus/phaser on the end and had a blast playing some dirty synth lines. Then I forgot to save the patch and lost it all
  9. Have you tried contacting John directly?
  10. Right? I was sooo close to buying it!
  11. Here she is. I saved the advert on Facebook:
  12. Exactly. Was a very cool bass.
  13. I was pretty disappointed that he dismantled it for parts. I was considering buying it despite having no need for it. That pickguard looked mean on it too!
  14. Ah! I think I remember that sale - he added a black pickguard to it if I’m not mistaken?
  15. TKS make truly fantastic cabs - if this is the price for 2 of them then this is an absolute steal!
  16. Ha. Resistance is futile. I’ve just added a bit more info to my post above too..
  17. Yes indeed. In the global settings you can change the routing of the FX Returns to act as an Aux In for practice. Also, if you connect the Stomp to an iPhone, iPad or iPod via an Apple Camera Connection Kit any audio played from the device will automatically be routed as Aux In. The same behaviour applies when connected to a PC/Mac.
  18. New purchase, perchance?
  19. I just got me one of these cables which circumvents the issue of needing extra headphone cable length. I spec’d it a bit differently - mine has 3.5mm connectors at both ends of the headphone line for instance - but it has made my bass practice so much neater, and I can use whatever headphones I please as the cable on my phones only has to be long enough to reach the strap pin on the bass I’m playing.
  20. Ha! I should really pay more attention, I assumed everyone had theirs by now. You’re in for a treat. Was playing through mine last night for headphone practise duties and it was glorious. Had it connected to my laptop via USB to stream audio and messed about with a couple of patches before settling down and doing some actual playing. Truly a lovely experience. This is the first Multi FX I’ve had any love for at all! The experience was made even lovelier by the simple addition of a combo guitar/headphone cable I had made up by OBBM of this parish. See thread below - although I specced mine slightly differently it’s effectively the same cable in principle:
  21. Have you not got your Stomp yet Bas?
  22. The 1/4” outs are balanced so effectively function as a DI, but if you want XLR connectivity it’s a simple case of plugging in a short 1/4” TRS to XLR male adapter. Plug the sound guy/gal’s XLR cable into that and you’re off.
