  1. And obviously the Future Impact is taller than it is wide, whereas the Stomp is wider than it is tall. The Stomp also has more I/O, positioned on 3 of its 4 sides. Something to consider when allocating board space for it.
  2. The Stomp’s dimensions are 7” x 5” x 2.5” (17.5cm x 12.5cm x 6.25cm) so yes it’s very similar to the Future Impact, just slightly wider.
  3. Is it bad that I googled that just to be sure?
  4. I’ve been following the development of this bass for several weeks now via Carey’s Facebook posts. Looks like it’s gonna be fantastic!
  5. Indeed. I’ve sent countless emails to the Testicle Exfoliator™ support team about their poor website security. No response as of yet.
  6. If you need a second opinion, give me a call.
  7. @Al Krow, don’t you have a Cioks DC7? Or did you sell it? I can’t keep track 😅 I know this is specifically re: the HX Effects but looks like the DC7 has a bit of headroom to spare current-wise when combining two outlets.
  8. Truly portable. And to supplement my earlier size comparison to the HX Effects:
  9. I reckon I’ll actually just run my entire existing pedalboard into the FX return on the Stomp, with the Stomp acting as a master hub/interface/DI/headphone amp. I may change my mind on that though. We’ll see.
  10. Because the Amstrad Emailer has a flat response. The perfect platform for Helix’s amp/cab sims IMO...
  11. @Al Krow, HX Stomp literally has your name on it. And they’ve even taken the liberty of drawing the diagram with a Yammy BB plugged in. I smell a conspiracy.
  12. Good news for me, since I run Strymon power supplies 😬
  13. I can only add to the positive comments above. Works great with bass and has been said, Chris is a great guy to deal with.
  14. @fretmeister & @BigRedX The HX Stomp supports 3 snapshots per patch, with up to 64 parameter changes per snapshot.
  15. It’s a “Helix grade” Mutron model which I guess means it involves their component-level-emulation tech. I remember the old Mutron model on my Line 6 M5 which wasn’t bad but certainly would never dethrone the likes of my Fwonkbeta. I’d be interested to hear the newer Mutron model with bass - I may ask the goodly folk in the HX thread over on Talkbass.
  16. Yep! They’re both global though, so you lose the ability to adjust their settings on a per-patch basis. If you need that functionality you’ll have to insert a noise gate or EQ effect block into the patch itself.
  17. Actually, @Woodinblack, ignore my nonsense re: split points using up a block. I think you’re right in that you’ll be able to use 6 Effects blocks regardless of splits! Check out this screenshot of the Andertons demo vid: Clearly using 6 effect blocks in addition to the split/merge points. Also, bear in mind that there is an “invisible” adjustable noise gate at the start of the chain and a global EQ at the end of the chain, neither of which take up a block.
  18. You can still do split signal paths (Y, A/B or Crossover) and route them as you wish through different effects blocks, within the limitations of the 6-block limit
  19. It may not do an OC2 sound, but it does has an octaver patch modelled specifically on the EBS Octabass which is a great sounding analogue pedal. I’d say the OC2 is a bit more synthy whereas the Octabass is more growly. Comparison video below: Additionally, there’s an updated model of the Mutron III envelope filter in the Helix which could feasibly kick the stompbox equivalent off our boards too. Need to find a demo of that particular effect block on the Helix...
  20. Another workaround minus volume control, but a simple volume pedal between the FX Send and the Amp would solve that:
  21. That photo seems to be defying the laws of physics. And now I can’t unsee it either!! @Al Krow, the final part of the post below may be of particular interest:
  22. Would it not be possible to insert a signal split at the very end of the Stomp’s signal chain, with Path A going to the left output and Path B going to the right output, and an expression controller set to adjust volume of Path B? Failing that, a workaround I see is to have the main outs going to Desk/PA and the headphone out going to on stage FRFR - in the global menu the volume knob can be set to only control the headphone output, with the main outs remaining at unity.
  23. Good news for those with others in the Helix family wishing to get the Stomp in addition to what they already own. ...and the last sentence in the image below has just sealed the deal for me. This one pedal will render so many things redundant!
