  1. WHY AM I STILL HERE? Very rough size comparison between HX Effects and HX Stomp. His hand is obviously obscuring one of the footwitches on the Stomp but it gives a good idea of the sheer difference in overall dimensions.
  2. Yes, I’m still awake... From 11:00 onwards in the video below one of the Line 6 guys talks about the power requirements and says they’ve managed to get the HX Stomp working with a few popular pedalboard power supplies. Things are looking up! This vid actually covers a lot of really useful specifics. Definitely worth a watch.
  3. I have to correct my own comments re: the Helix Stomp being a similar form factor to the Headrush Gig Board - having looked at some videos, it seems the Gig Board is significantly larger than the Helix Stomp and closer to the dimensions of HX Effects. The HX Stomp is considerably more pedalboard friendly in terms of size.
  4. If it said 3A on the PSU brick/cable I’d agree with you but it’s written on the pedal itself in this instance. In truth, the constant draw while booted may well be a fair bit lower, only requiring the full 3A at initial boot up. It’s a thirsty little guy regardless. That DSP chip is a hog. There were plenty of folk complaining about the current draw of HX Effects, though some reported that it worked on high end power supplies when multiple outlets were bridged to deliver more juice to the pedal...but this method will obviously produce mixed results. Still, look at the Helix Stomp’s closest competition - the recently released Headrush Gig Board - which is a very similar form factor. The Gig Board runs at 19V (yes, nineteen) and draws 3.42A on a centre-positive connector. By comparison we should count ourselves lucky with the Helix Stomp’s power requirements!
  5. *ahem* Looks like I’ll be packing the diesel generator then...
  6. Cannot wait to get home and watch the videos posted here. Looks like Line 6 may have once again nailed it. Only downside is that by the looks of things there isn’t an isolated power supply in the land with enough juice to drive the thing on a single output 😩 but I’m sure I’ll be able to conjure up a workaround for that somehow...
  7. I was GASing for a Flashback 2 a while back. I know it’ll be great as I used to own an original flashback - at these prices it seems a Flashback 2 is probably an inevitability for meat some point.
  8. To answer point B, there’s definitely no TonePrint editor compatibility yet but I think TC are working on it. Or at least that was the impression I got from some of the posts on the Spectradrive thread on Talkbass.
  9. This is a great price for a fantastic amp - it has to be heard to be believed. Proper bass sound in an absolutely tiny package.
  10. Let us know what the PSU situation is with GuitarGuitar - I’m thinking of ordering mine from them.
  11. Wait...you mean it can’t run off an isolated supply with other pedals?
  12. Sticking it on the knob was purely for my own amusement but it would work fine in practice as the knobs on that bass are volume/blend/treble/bass, with active-passive push-pull on the volume knob. Basically my EQ is set & forget with treble & bass very slightly boosted. I use the pickup blend and active-passive switching to get my tonal palette, so in theory keeping the tuner on the bass EQ knob wouldn’t be a problem. I could happily gig it there. It’s just as accurate (if not more so) in that position!
  13. A Gen 3 Big Baby 2 has just popped up for sale...!
  14. Oh my goodness. I was expecting the “usual” TKO shape, which I’m not the biggest fan of, but this has been moulded and shaved in all the right places. A work of art! Love it. EDIT: just realised its a different model entirely - a TKO Modern as opposed to a TKO Classic. Well that clears things up!
  15. The Poly/Unitune clips are much sturdier than most other clip-on tuners I’ve seen, presumably down to the one-way hinge which can’t be rotated in all directions like most other clip ons. Who really needs 360 degrees of rotation anyway??
  16. I had the White Neons on my old Yamaha RBX774 - they were very bright sounding when I first put them on but I left them unchanged for a very long time (about 7 years) and they developed an incredibly satisfying pseudo-precision-like thump.
  17. On a serious note, I’m a heavy pinky user in my bass playing - I almost never use my ring finger on my fretting hand which means I’m in what I assume to be a very small club of players whose pinky is actually stronger than their ring finger. I really need to work on that...
  18. It does the same thing to me 😂 I wallow in shame every time...
  19. Trouble is, it’s currently sitting in a queue of about half a dozen basses I want to buy 😅
  20. @PJ-Bassist, if you’re looking for rounds to go on your Jabba, have you ever tried Dunlop Superbrights? I use the Nickel Superbrights on my MTD 5er and love them. Good life, nice and flexible tension (not crazy loose but a bit more flexible than “standard”) and I really like the tone. They’ve improved the sound and feel of every bass I’ve put them on. YMMV of course!
  21. That is a beautiful bass right there. I’ve been eyeing up an identical one on the Bass Direct website for a few days now. Lord help me.
  22. Spill the beans! The rest of us shall live vicariously through you
