I’ve got a Polytune mini pedal and a Polytune clip. Both work really well but I may get a Unitune clip in black to blend in better on my various headstocks. I have zero need for the poly part!

I’ve been browsing online today, specifically looking at the Spectradrive Bass Preamp pedal and noticed that the price suddenly dropped from £199 to about £137 across multiple retailers. I was a little concerned TC may have been discontinuing the pedal, so I gave Andertons a call and the guy I spoke to said it was likely a result of Andertons being price matched against another retailer...so I gave GuitarGuitar a ring and the guy on the other end of the line said they’ve switched from their old supplier and are now going direct through TC - thus lower prices across the board. Hilariously, the Polytune clip is now cheaper than the Unitune clip. Looking at both the Anderton’s and GuitarGuitar websites it looks like every TC pedal has had a healthy price drop, as well as the amp heads and combos. TC Helicon gear has gone down as well. Good times! This will obviously wreak havoc with used values but overall I think it’s a very good thing.

The Ibanez BTBs are great basses. HOWEVER, the trade off of that 20mm string spacing is that the fingerboard is incredibly wide as a result. I think you should definitely try before you buy, just to be sure the ergonomics work for you.

@Jabba_the_gut your work is truly superb. I’m actually having a Wingbass built as we speak, so I’m sure you can imagine I’m enjoying your progress shots immensely! Will you be taking orders at some point...? 🤪

Some of the optional extras are absurd. Particularly the $100 it costs to have black hardware instead of chrome. Madness.

The TC Voicesolos are fantastic and will do the business for you guys. They’re so good I have two! Very light and portable too. I’ve run open night mics off a couple of them and they more than punch above their weight - especially if, as you say, they’ll only be for vocals.

That puts my mind at ease.

Agreed. That black burst with the super-straight grain is a very cool look. Especially with a plain maple neck (no dots or blocks). Really classy, naked sorta look. Love it.

I was half expecting not to like the Status neck on the Flea body but it actually works very well! Good work!

Looks great. My electra VS4 definitely sits in the SL category already but my California VM5 is a bit of a tank by comparison. This is definitely a welcome addition to Sandberg’s range.
