  1. Whatever you do - don’t watch the PedalsAndEffects demo of this pedal. They make it sound like poopoo 😅
  2. Good lord, that’s absurd.
  3. Yep, big Ibanez fan here, but it’s the slightly higher end of their product range that gets my love. They make solid instruments across the board though.
  4. It ain’t cheap but I think I might go for this - big main compartment, backpack format and plenty of extra storage: https://www.thomann.de/gb/pedaltrain_soft_case_classic_1_2_novo_24.htm
  5. Ah, that might do the trick actually - pics perchance? EDIT: I’ve just realised it’s too short...
  6. That flight case is a good option for storage etc but it’s a bit heavy duty for the kind of frequent travelling I’ll be doing with it. Still, it’s nice and cheap!
  7. Ah, this might be worth looking into. The final dimensions of the bass should be 65cm x 32.5cm x 6.5cm so your case is very nearly perfect.
  8. As has been mentioned already - Yamaha. Preferably something like a used BB424 or, if you can find one, a newer used BB434. There’s very little out there that can touch Yamaha’s lower-midrange basses for the money. Fantastic build quality and fantastic sound.
  9. You’d be surprised at the girth and playability of a low B at 30” scale. If the instrument has been built well, it’s not an issue!
  10. I’m in the process of ordering a Wingbass - a custom super short scale bass tuned an octave up from bass pitch. Usually, Wing basses are shipped with a bespoke fitted soft case, but as I’m opting for an extended scale the usual included case will be too short. As a workaround I’ve looked into Tenor ukulele cases, mandolin cases and mini-Strat cases as well as normal electric guitar cases which are too long, and headless guitar (Steinberger-type) cases which are too narrow in the body due to the upper horn of the Wingbass. It seems like I’ve exhausted every avenue and nothing quite works. So, as the title suggests, I’m looking for someone who can make me a high quality padded gig bag or semi rigid foam case to fit. I’m deliberately avoiding the flight case route as that will defeat the purpose of having a such a portable instrument made. Any suggestions will be most appreciated! Pictures below to give you an idea of the shape of the bass:
  11. For around £50 you can get a used set of Shure SE215 in ears. I used to own a set and loved them. Super long cable with detachable connectors at each earbud, so you can replace the cable if it gets damaged. Great earphones IMO.
  12. 60 cycle hum on a soloed single coil pickup?
  13. +1 to this. My Violetburst VM5 was £1k used and my Electra VS4 was £350 used. Bargains all round IMO.
  14. I feel like this is the kind of thing @ambient might know?
  15. Locks can be purchased for the Hercules wall hangers: https://www.gak.co.uk/en/hercules-gsp38wb-plus/918485?gclid=CjwKCAjw_b3cBRByEiwAdG8WqgIOUc7oe0c_XsK5iE3Sj7PhoO0YJfXmS-ubfOUpKiUkaK3S8adDohoCHyMQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds https://www.gak.co.uk/en/hercules-ha101-ags-auto-grab-system-security-lock/92297?gclid=CjwKCAjw_b3cBRByEiwAdG8Wqj852mI5RySe6lE1f8E7r_NUdigfAodLX_3FTTef7SqvvENvdM9jVBoCq6EQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
  16. A nice deep dark tort would look lovel on that!
  17. I have to agree with @hypercarrots here. A good bass is a good bass, surely? If it’s been well maintained then there should be no problem. People play >100 year old double basses all the time!
  18. Looks like it’s going to be too deep for the control cavity - I’m seeing if they’d be willing to go down the desoldering route. I’ve even suggested buying a couple of used Octamizers for them to use as test units!
  19. Yep, that’s exactly how I use my Polytune Clip.
