  1. It makes no sense to change anything, just somebody planting a seed in my mind who was talking rubbish. That's the end of it as far as I'm concerned, cheers.
  2. Sounds a bit of a dumb question now, because I am happy with the rig, although the cab is heavy, I'v put wheels on it now. It's a standing joke that it never goes beyond 2, it was mentioned that being able to turn it up would somehow make it better. Sounds bollocks to me, was wondering what you guys thought. The gigs we play are just pubs around the Crewe/Sandbach/Northwich area. The guitarist mic's up through the PA, I never do, it's more than enough. I guess that answers my question then. Cheers. Doe!!!
  3. I had two gigs this W/E, Friday was the first with my three piece, loads of mates/family supporting us, last night with my regular band, ever been there before, the place was heaving!! Was a brilliant gig and were rebooked too. Result!!!
  4. I need a bit of advise. For the last four years I'v been playing gigs with a Peavey TVX 410 with an Orange Terra Bass 500 head. It's a great rig but I never have the volume above 2 !!!!! It just seems a waste that I'm not using the head to it's full potential, it's just ticking over all the time. The other guys in the band have suggested I get a 210 cab, up the volume and DI through the Bass bins too. Which way should I go, without having to spend shitloads of money???? cheers, Hitchy.
  5. We played at The Grand Junction in Crewe last night. This place has a reputation for being a bit rough but we'v not had any problems. St Patricks so plenty of people in, lots of dancing and everyone saying how good we were. To be fair, we always play well and that was another great night. And the landlord booked us for 2 more gigs this year. Result!!!
  6. I'm not looking to replace my rig anytime soon as I'm very happy with this set-up. Orange Terror bass 500w into a Peavey TU4X10 cab.
  7. Nice one Fella You must have become a better player than last time ya tried it.
  8. Just got back from a gig, we played really well, no cock ups or any mistakes. We started off playing to 3 people and ended off the second set with 12. We still got £200, so it's a paid rehearsal really. Thats gotta be the worst attended gig we'v done, the best being 800+. What's you best and worst????
  9. John Paul Jones for me.
  10. I don't care what it's made of or what it sounds like, that is the biggest pile of poo I'v ever seen. Not interested.
  11. Nice one Sam. I hope it all goes well for you.
  12. Been playing for 6 years. Joined a band 4 years ago, lots of people have come and gone, I'm the only original member left. We'v been gigging 2 years now. High points: Playing at the ICC in Birmingham to 800+ people Seeing everyone up dancing, having a good time Bad points: Spending 6 months trying to find a singer, wondering if the frustation is worth it. Sacking your singer because he's a liar, thief and general ass hole
  13. Thanks for all the advice guys, I'v bought some ACS ER20's for £7.88. So looking forwards to trying them out.
  14. Hi all, any of you guys play gigs with ear plugs in ?? What's the sound like, what make you use and how much?? Cheers Hitchy.
  15. How does anyone forget to cash £375 !!! My advise is to ignore the guy, he'll probably cash in both at the same time. I smell a rat, but that's just me. I'v been ripped off before so be carefull, espeically considering the timescale.
  16. Boss DR3, easy to use and alter the tempo. 100 presets etc. It's more than done it's job for me, great little thing
  17. We have played Charity gigs for free and got other bookings from the publicity that create's. That's fine. However, why the f*** should we play for free in all the pubs and clubs we play, when the landlord is making loads of money from a busy venue and we'r providing the entertainment. Sounds like we'r lucky around here, in that a 30 mile radius there are loads of fee paying venues.
  18. I'm trying to learn slap. Can't see me mastering this
  19. O dear. You are the weekest link, by by!!
  20. I totally agree with the above Dude. Just stay relaxed and be cool, they'r not hard numbers to play. Enjoy and let us know how ya get on
  21. I'v just got in from a gig, proberbly the best gig we'v played, and I'm on here now because me head's still buzzin. We played a rough and ready rock pub and everyone was headbanging and yellin how good we were. To me, that is what it's all about, O, and £40 in me pocket
  22. Hi all, I'm building a Fender Jazz based Bass, I'v got a Jazz neck and a standard Jazz body will arrive soon. But I don't want Fender pick-ups, I'm after a differant tone. Any ideas??? Has anyone heard of Joe Barden engineering pups??? It will be a passive bass. Cheers, Hitchy
  23. I'v been leaning 2 new numbers this week. 1. Lay your hands on me - Bon Jovi 2. Place you hands - Reef We played them at rehearsal the other day and will be on the set list for next saturdays gig
  24. I can see why he wears them, but it's not very rock n' roll is it. You'd look a bit of a twat playing in them really lol
  25. Hi all, I'm in a 5 piece covers band called BEDLAM from Crewe, Cheshire.
