Unless you can point to a specific sound somewhere?
This is the NOFX track I was listening to
P Bass or J Bass, played VERY fast with a pick, with overdriven tube amps. A Sansamp BDDI gets you close
I think I need to invest in a Sansamp or similar do you think there is compression in the fx chain? Thanks for your help.
 2. hi to all, I was wondering after listening to some great live NOFX and Me First and the gimme gimmes tracks what Fat Mike uses to get his sound. I can't find the answer through my googling so wondered if anyone here knows. thanks in advance, juice
 3.
Funnily enough im starting my pedal box this week(doing it at work on nightshift),ive changed my design 3 times since last Sunday but finally worked it out,im doing it in Aluminium with the Power mounted underneath and only the power inputs and connecting jacks are seen, its got more truck bits on it than purchased,ie-led bars and neon strips more recognisable on our fleet of Hinos and Volvos .....but the actual frame has turned out amazing.......using metal and esp chrome plating is gonna be heavy,i,ll pm u some pics from work tonight maybe give you some ideas or piss yourself laughing.
look forward to seeing how your getting on, I keep changing design track but as the pedal trains are so popular I thought the dimensions would give a good starting point for whatever design i end up making. I am planning on chrome plating an aluminium construction, here is a place that does chrome plating aluminium I don't think it will add too much weight overall.
 4. Hi to all, I am designing a custom pedal board to be fabricated & then chrome plated but I wondered if a Pedaltrain owner could confirm the dimensions noted on the image below to help me develop my layout. also, I would welcome any problems you guys have found using the various types of 'off the shelf' boards. My main reason for a custom design will be to provide increased space for power (including wall-wart supplies) and a flat base area at the side for a wah as I would prefer this to be at floor level. thank you in advance for any comments you may have - they could make all the difference with my final unit.
Do you have a cash price?
Hi, only reference for cash price I have is ebay Item number: 200535555440 which is same driver but doesn't have the original cone for £78 + shipping. Based on this I would offer this pair with original cones for £100 collected. shipping is a possibility which I will research if required.

 17.
Hi, Would you be interested in an as new Rocktron Blue Thunder, nice light "no amp " option ?
interesting offer - I'm just off to get some further info on the unit - I guess by your location I would need to check out shipping options for the speakers too? I have to say due to the circumstances I would have to give preference to someone who could collect them. anyways will check out the blue thunder & come back to you.
 18.
I could be interested in one.
would ideally like to trade both together but let me know what you would like to offer and I will gladly consider splitting them for you.
 19. ok here is the background; these came from an old bassman 215, I had them in individual homemade cabs but decided to put them back in a 215 - then I had emergency hernia operation in september!! Initially decided to keep them as spares for my trace 115 but have just discovered hernia is back and I'm going to need further surgery so I need to go lightweight if I am going to keep playing. These speakers are rated at 150w 8ohm. I'll take a few pics tomorrow evening and add them to this thread if anyone wants to see them? I no longer have any of the aforementioned cabs but the speakers are currentl attached to front boards from the last cabs with 15" grills to protect whilst awaiting next cab. For obvious reasons I am desperate to lighten my rig (but have zero cash at the moment) but I am open to all suggestions of possible trades of any bass related items. thanks for looking. juice
 20.
So the answer to your question is "yes maybe, but I doubt it".
Lol
 21.
If the cabs are identical (bar the impedance) and the amps have identical frequency response, distortion and power output then the output will be identical. However I've yet to come across a loudspeaker where the 4 and 8 ohm versions have absolutely identical performance, let alone getting everything else to match!
Thanks alex, i guessed that it is impossible to test the theory really and i'm not really sure why the question kept spinning roud my head. these things do niggle without an answer though dont they!
 22. I apologise now if I am repeating something already covered, but as I can't find the answer I thought I would post my question anyway.... I understand the combination of ohm rating in different wiring combinations and the effect on the amps power output. I also believe the more air you shift in total the 'louder' the rig (if power/ohm matched efficiently). But does anyone know if a 400w 8ohm amp into 500w 8ohm 4x10 cab produces more or less db than a theoretically identical 4ohm rig; i.e. 400w 4ohm amp into 500w 4ohm 4x10 cab? My grey matter can't decided the outcome ! - thanks for any comments. Juice
