1. Higher Ground - RHCP Jolene - Sisters of Mercy for starters...
2. Bananarama - Love in the First Degree and Nathan Jones (especially the dance moves in the chorus), love 'em.
3. Micki Steele.
4. Blood, Sugar, Sex, Magic started the RHCP slide for me - the albums before it, I enjoy much more.
5. Measure the width of the fretboard, call this c Measure the height of the fretboard (could be tricky without verniers), call this s (sagitta) The radius can then be found using this formula: r = (4s[sup]2[/sup] + c[sup]2[/sup])/(8s) Haven't tried it myself, it's all derived from Pythagoras. Might try it tomorrow on a known radius. Can't claim credit for the maths. I just enjoyed a pleasant mathematical half hour researching it. Dario
6. My lad plays guitar, but when he was 9 he had to play bass in a school concert. He used my p-bass and had no problems, he's average sized. He played sitting down so the weight wasn't a problem.
7.
I recognise this the other way round: coming from circles in Holland where oblique literary references are the order of the day, I suddenly lost an audience when moving to Norway. Initially I thought this was a cultural thing, but happily I found out later it was more innocent and just that Norwegians are stupid... (Seriously though: it IS a cultural thing. People with more education than I have could react strongly toetroddenly. )
I look forward to finding out what toetroddenly means .
8. Just been watching some xmas songs on Vintage TV and they played a Pet Shop Boys number from 1997 which was vaguely humbugish. That got me thinking about it, I can only think of Fairytail of New York. Any other miserable, bah humbug Christmas songs out there?
9. From the missus: Vegas by Sleeper mentions Elvis and Sinatra
10. There's a guy down the chip shop, swears he's Elvis - Kirsty MacColl (what a great voice).
11. Good Time Boys (RHCP) mention Fishbone, took me ages to remember the song title!
12. Rotosound Jazz bass 77 flats have green thready bits.
13.
Snap? Never heard of them.
Heh, heh. German/American it seems, thought I remembered them: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snap!

15.
Which is the bass one? They all seem to go to guitar parts?
If you click on the cog in the top right, you can choose the instrument to view.
16. https://www.jellynot...uments=bass&p=1 A few to have a look at on jellynote, can't vouch for the accuracy. Dario
17. Thanks for that, as you said, a good place to start.
18. Hi everyone, I can't seem to find a set of original specs for my 2006 Jag, as I want a new set of strings. Does anyone know what gauge I should be fitting? Thanks, Dario
19. SOLD Don't know how to amend the title though.

25. Hi all, I've just bought a new (to me) bass from the forum so need to sell this. Everything you need to know spec wise, is on the link below: http://www.gibson.co...ndard-Bass.aspx I've only used the bass at home and it still has the plastic film on the pick guard. The only thing I have changed is to fit flatwound Rotosound strings. There are some nail marks around the "improved contact jack", made before I got the hang of pulling the cable out! The case and everything that came with it will be included. If you would like further photos, no problem. I would prefer that you tried before buying, with cash on collection. Trades I need a combo amp so something like a TC BG250, anything that'll be fine for gigs. What've you got? Thanks for looking
