  2. I've been very lucky with all the instruments I have purchased "unseen" 1 certainly needed proper luthier fix
  3. I've yet to play an instrument with fanned frets , I think I understand it's principle but asthetically it's difficult to like

I read up on power supplies and went with Vitoos DD-12 , very good Boss OC-5 I still haven’t given it a full run through but I think a good option from Boss considering the scarcity and price of OC-2 by the look of it FKT AUDIO - “ The Fretless” think it’s a dumb name but this is an excellent pedal. I’m looking at other pedals in their range given how good this one is

  7. on the NZ Auction site this week there is a Gibson era "Classic" which is the neck through model it's a 5'er and I'm thinking about it , if I could try before buy would be helpful

  12. I'm keeping both the OC-2 and OC-5 I see some believe there's a difference between MIJ and MIT, prices certainly reflect that
  13. there's a fantastic article on TB on the design , process and staff at Gibson for the Tobias years a very interesting read "Tobias Growler Club" The Growler was an attempt to gain leverage in the Stingray and Fortress market , I think it's a top quality instrument and would like an unlined fretless 5 should that unicorn appear

  17. Superb instruments Beast was a passive jazz style Grendel active Bass Centre "Stadium" is the same thing my original run MTD Grendel V is possibly my favourite instrument , a smooth thing

  20. the 1995-97 Gibson era Tobias Growler have a superb electronic system I've not tried the latest reboot
  21. AJ was quite involved in the early days of Bass Player USA He had some forceful opinions I was able to read and contemplate his thoughts and apply or try them in various musical situations He was a Principled Ideas man

  23. I have a Pau Ferro fretless but it's never had rounds on it , so I'm not much use there
