I found the gentleman and the topic on the bass body I mentioned above, here it is ...
-
Hello again and again, from your favourite (hahahaha) OSB_floor_mrbacco maniac fellow 🙂 I have another project in mind. I have basically sold all the other basses I made/assembled (except for the red and the carbon looking which is still on adverts.ie) so I was thinking of something a bit different this time. A custom bass with sharp edges like the one in the pictures. Pine wood, with a small back layer of MDF ( the upper half of the back of the body). Attached a semi glossy pre-pre-loved neck 34 inches scale with 21 frets (if I remember correctly) which is maple + maple. I might add a quad could humbucker green pickup that I found very cheap on ebay and I might paint it green too, not sure yet. The half of the body has a layer of veneer that was applied before, and I thought to make it a bit more aggressive by sanding it and giving some personality, I kinda like the result, but I am not sure how it fits with the overall idea, I'll have to brainstorm a bit more. I know it is not an original idea, a lot of basses like this have been made, there was a nice person here, from Ireland too, if I am not wrong, who had one, and that where the idea come from. I don't remeber the brand now. .. apology Hardware wise I was thinking chrome all around, and contols cavity on the back (if I succeed this time). I might try the aerodyne style jack , but I cannot guarnatee anything to myslef now ... haha ... Also, I will upload some more picture in the future with the OSB floor for sure, thanks.

Thank you sir! 🙂

Thank you sir! For the control plate, I know it is not straight and perpendicular to the pickups, but I took a standard jazz 70' bass plate, and crop it to my design with the mitre saw! haha ... I will re route the cavity for the control to make it more 90 degrees to the whole bridge/pickups/strings hardware!

The carbon bass is finally finished. I re route the front to host a plate for the controls, as I found too much this time to create an ad hoc cover for the back. This is the final result, on the usual OSB floor that everyone is crazy about! (hahaha). Thanks, and see ya next time folks!

good point, Sir. no I am leaving it like that ... I understand what you mean; if I had a larger and bulkier bridge as well, the carbon bass ( 🙂 ) would look less casual and, maybe, a bit more suited, but I think I am gonna leave it like that ...

Still haven't connected the whole parts, been busy with "life impairments" like paying bills, storms, and all that BS ... anyway ... I had a bit of time to work on the final tuning, and now I am ready for the soldering and testing. I had put the covers on the pickups, plus another layer of black paint to finish it better. I am also finishing the plate that is gonna be on the back to cover the electronics. This is how it looks like as final from the front:

wow ! nice!

well ... this is what I, as a beginner, look for in terms of learning. Thanks for sharing this beauty! 🙂

Yeah ... The big poles are class ... I'll tell you later how they sound when I connect the whole thing! Cheers!!!
