    Bought this back in December 2021, but have not used it. I know, it's crazy. And stupid. But finally, with the help of my wife, decided that I have to let it go. The bass is mint, and comes with 1 extra set of strings and a not mounted 6-way pickup selector (https://www.wholesalemusicsupply.com/custom-6-way-rotary-selector-switch). The bass also has a Hipshot xtender mounted on the B-string. It comes with the original gigbag. Please ask me question if anything is unclear.     Yes, I know. The important part here is "The final LA Tobias/Gibson serial number is 2044. Despite Gibson's ownership of Tobias, all of the basses made up to 2044 were built by my regular crew. ". So it's not pre gibson ownership, but it is pre gibson manufacturing. And that is where the big difference is.

    I took of the g and c string and measured from the bottom of the groove in the saddle with a caliper. I can do it again, but I think I got the right measure.

    Up for sale is a VERY nice Alembic Europa 5. The previous, and original owner, was a collector and didn't play his collection much. This bass has VERY little sign of use. The bass has a mahogany body (standard) with a quilted maple top (see spec sheet) The neck is an 7 piece multi laminate (upgrade). It has the usual Europa electronics, with volume, pickup balance, filter, and switches for bass and treble boost/cut. The bridge sits in a massive brass block. And she sings! The neck would push the price from Alembic to around $15.000! Comes in original hard bag with papers, and shipping is included. I do apologize for some of the photos. Had some trouble with the light shine back. If you want to talk before buying, I will happily arrange for an online meeting where we can talk and I can play the bass to you.

    Open for offers, and trade suggestions. Must have 5 strings and be funny. If you have a Guild Pilot 5 or a Hamer Cruise bass 5 you have my attention (don't ask, they've been on my "bucket" list since the previous millennia).

    This stunner of a bass came to me as a trade, so I had to google to find out info about it. It appears that it is one of only 4!! basses of this type! And it is a handmade Bacchus Woodline DX5 Sakura. Neck is maple with a purple heart fingerboard. Body is ash with a rather thick sakura (japanese cherry) top. Pickups is Bacchus own, and hardware is Gotoh. The nut is 46mm wide, and spacing at the bridge is 19mm. The bass is passive, with 2x volume and tone. Pull out the tone know and the pickups gets wired in series. The bass comes in original gigbag, and will be padded up good and boxed before shipping. And how does it sound?
