1. Blimey if your not used to it by now perhaps you never will be......... drugs or alcohol is your only hope...
2. Hi I would consider posting at your cost.... getting pics up at the moment would be difficult as I'm playing virtually all the time and not at home at present. The bass is the same as this one but a fretless version..... only out the box to check if it was all in tact on upon arrival...
3. Yes all good for British manufacturing..... Woo Hoo for Status!!
4.
I think everyone's prices will be similarly high ifwhen that happens. I'm guessing that most gear is bought in dollars, and as the € rises against the dollar then companies like Thomann will be able to reduce the price in €.
I know from my side of the industry there are some very significant price increases in the UK coming next year.... we're talking as much as 40% in some cases.... Some stuff obviously comes in from the states but most manufacturers have European hub's now so it's not really going to help..... still gotta buy in Euro's.
5. Wonder how many people will still want to use them when the Euro is worth more than the pound....
6.
i just checked those out, they look super good. i'm assuming the tonal difference between one of these and the Markbass Mini combo (121p) would be immense? price-wise they're very expensive for a combo but if the tone is really that good, i can understand why.
I've never tried the Mini Markbass so cannot comment. They are expensive but the tone is full, focussed and powerful. It's two channel and one of those has a valve stage. See if you can find a second hand one as they go at reasonable prices these days...
7. Eden Metro combo.... Outstanding if not a little heavy
8.
Sorry to disagree but the majority of instrument cable is co-axial. Genuine instrument cable in has a lower capacitance than screened pair. Screened pair is more suited for balanced circuits such as mic and line level connections. Even then there are many different specs of screened pair.
What I meant.... didn't come out that way though did it....
9. Ah I see..... your right in that respect but depending how it's connected. Normally +1 and ground are connected and +2 is your hot as it were. What I should have stated a bit clearer was generally two core is speaker cable and three core instrument/signal/balanced cable
10.
Shurely shome mishtake? Stereo instrument cables are pretty rare; most active basses (and effects pedals) won't even work if you don't plug a mono jack into them.
I don't understand your point?
11. If you look inside the Jack, Speaker will usually have two cores and instrument three (Tip, Ring and Sleeve)
12. Obviously been smoking 'Jazz Fags'.......
13.
Mac=Boy band they tell you what to do safe..................PC..Rock and roll.
That's about a sensible a quote as your hairstyle!
14.
To me it seems odd that some tatty old piece of crap with an obviously poor quality finish has "mojo" just because if has Fender on the headstock. Would the same word be used to describe a similarly wrecked Yamaha or Ibanez or Warwick? And do Fender deliberately use sh*t paint (see Rory Gallagher's Strat for another example)?
+ 1 What utter junk!
15.
Or dont try this...! Garry
That is Hilarious..... I love the ending...
16. Anything that your looking for specifically ??
17. Another weekend of Weddings...... nice one on Saturday up in Allington, Lincolnshire at some toff's weekend retreat.... one of the smallest rooms we have played in as it was effectively a living room but it was jammed all night with people dancing and singing.... Great bunch of people and managed to score two more gigs for next year out of it....
18. I've used Mac's since 1991..... always been stable, never had to use an engineer for repairs as they have never let me down..... in fact I still have my old G4 400Mhz running Digital Performer in the studio perfectly well..... 24 tracks of Audio no problem
19. Try these guys..... i've used them before and they're pretty good - TCS
20. Depends who your giving it too...... we had a load of Mouse mats made up with our logo and contact details which we gave away at a wedding planners convention..... cost a fair bit but we've made our money back for next years bookings...
21. Mac all the way!!!!! if your serious about your music!
22. Depends...... if it's playing in front of the decision maker at EMI/Polydor/CBS/Atlantic....etc..... then yes..... if it's some piss poor pub in the 'burbs... then no
23. Good attempt.... stick with it... the Edwards timing becomes more apparent the more you play the tunes..... I've just been going over Everybody Dance for a recording I'm about to play on.... I remember now why I love his style soo much!!
24. Absolutely double up on the dry wall..... also use 12mm as opposed to 9mm if you can.... makes so much difference. couple of worthwhile links below http://www.johnlsayers.com/ http://www.rwssoundproofing.co.uk/shop.htm
