1.
I find the best solution is not to drink. I barely ever touch the stuff these days as I work day & night (including weekends most of the time!) I've found I don't really miss it & I can afford much better basses
What am I doing wrong... the more I play... the more I drink and smoke (Jazz Fags)....
2.
i know what you mean mate, well i love the mark king/series body shape but im not keen on the sound i guess that wy the jaydee is my number one fave...
I had a MK jaydee for a few years.... great bass.... very long..... Electronics were not great though.... I generally hate headed basses.... do love Jaydee's and Alembic's though
3. Tone control.....?
4.
Is that Star Trek communicator there on your manly shoulder?
Is it wrong to find this attractive??
5.
intersting that the stanley basses, look similar to the kingbass, you know symmetrical body n that???
Yep... well that's my number one fave bass of all time...... just imagine if Alembic decided o make the SC model headless all those years ago....
6.
Eddie is Anne!
Eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhh!
7.
Going down Monday and Tuesday. What you up to on the Sennheiser stand? Will definitely be seeing Eddie & Ken.
Kool.... Ken's my boss.... make sure you say hi.... Eddie should have been a character in Little Britain ....hahahahahaahaHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
8.
This was my Stanley bass, I sold it a few years ago now, what a mistake. I wasn't playing it too often though, I was concentrating on my 6 string playing, and a bass like this needs to be played. I will get another someday though, for definite !.
That's my 2nd fave bass of all time........ I will have one one day!!!
9. If you are drop by the Sennheiser Stand and say hello.... Jay
10.
Agree with you in the main but what I am trying to say that is if your usual band charges £250 for a saturday night pub gig and you get £50 of that then as a rule of thumb you should expect about double for NY eve. As opposed to how good your band is maybe I should have said how financially succesful it is. Steve
Agreed!
11.
Depends how good your band is. Double your usual charge is about right in my experience. Steve
I wouldn't necessarily agree about how good the band is thing.... I've seen a lot of god awful bands go out for a lot of cash and some excellent musicians get paid a pittance for a NYE gig.... it's all about marketing and selling your band. I think there are a lot of bands selling themselves rather short...... Come on guys it's the biggest party night on the calendar!!
12. Depends on the gig.... Function band I play in Charge up to 5k + any extras for hotel/corporate NYE gig...
13.
Just being my usual pedantic self but basses don't have "Input Jacks". The signal is generated in the bass and leaves via the "Output Jack". Amplifiers have "Input Jacks"
Surely Amplifiers have 'Input/output Jack/Speakon/XLR Sockets' and Instruments have 'Output Jack Sockets' ........ Er... Now I'm being pedantic!
14.
Hey folks, I recently got carried away showing of the possibilities of my eden amp, and I've managed to blow the tweeter fuse bulb! It's a 210xlt 8ohms Can anyone help me out with what type I need to replace it? And where I can get one from? any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks Harry
If you take the crossover plate off, the Fuse/Bulb is located just inside..... I just took mine into the local Maplins and bought a pack of about 5 replacements for about two quid....
15. And this is still here too.....
16. Oops... missed the post above sorry.... anyway I still have these if anyone is interested.....
17. I saw them support Doves at RAH.... they were quite good from what I remember
18. Glad to see you finally got the Starchild Moo.... How she play..... utter sh*te I bet.....
19. Well that depends on how many mixes you need.... if you each need your own mix then you each need a transmitter and receiver..... If your happy to share mixes then you can get away with less Transmitters... Also, as a word of warning, be sure to check the frequencies available before considering any cheap(er) imports that knock about on ebay. Yes just so you know... If you do go down the Sennheiser route.... Check your buying a real product as Sennheiser are suffering big time from counterfeit copies on e-bay at the moment.... may look the same on the outside, including the clever packaging..... but the RF and AF performance is that of trying to make a telephone call from East Anglia on the Orange network....
20. Jason Mraz..... again.....
21. Are you 'Flushing' all of your unused audio files..... Even if you delete them from the window, they are not necessarily deleted off your hard disk... best get rid and make sure you back up often
22. Coffee coming out my nose....... again...... That guy is Funkcing genius....... He's like the next Ron Burgundy....... hilarious!!!!
23. More importantly do you know if he bought a new Status when he was down your neck of the woods.....
24. I find them hit and miss..... but they're not overly expensive which is a plus
