1. I'm confused by the title of the thread..... surely everyone wants lighter gear..... it's more about neo versus ferrite isn't it?
2. You can always say no.....
3.
This is NOT a veiled for sale ad as the neck is still very much attached and in use, but.... If i decide to remove my pretty much mint status graphite neck from my jazz (its fitted with fretfx lights too!) does anyone have a clue what i should be asking for it? (sans tuners) It cost about a zillion pounds to buy and have fitted, but i know with the credit (cough-recession) crunch is probably worth about 7p now. Its only about twoish years old.
Tell you what I'll give you 8p and then you come out on top!! Seriously I reckon you should be able to get £250 for it J

8. I reckon what you should do is go out and book a support slot somewhere and then tell everyone you have a gig lined up..... it's amazing what a bit of pressure will do!!
9. I'd say just go for it..... you and your band mate will gain alot from playing live. It's very different from rehearsing and bedroom playing. You'll all gain a lot of experience from playing live and it will also boost the confidence of those that are not feeling quite there yet. J
10. .......n'other wedding gig..... back to Knebworth house.... usual problems with the sound limiter though we had already run 2nd power line from the back kitchen to the anger of the management. Good night in all and managed two more booking from it. ;o)
11. I had a corporate in the Middle of the Standard Charter Bank in The City.... Fantastic acoustics not.... Surrounded buy Tiled floors and played in a Glass box 20 meters by 5 stories high..... the Lexicon was redundant for the evening.... ;0)
12. There are a few manufacturers making them.... Mark Bass had one in their range..... I guess it's to do with the impedance as most hover round the 5-6 ohm mark Might be worth speaking to Mike at Iceni about his Zoot cabs..... he could probably make you what your after for not a lot of cash Jay
13. Good idea though it does frustrate me when most of the worlds pro Audio software is Mac based and they come up with a windows only editor!!

19. The Reverb Stores are the new Arbiter branches...... nothing to do with Sound Control
20. It's not as black and white as booking a whole chain of pubs..... more than often it's down to each individual pub as the PRS License will be allocated in conjunction with the local council due to noise restrictions.
21.
YES! Exactly. As a professional, he's doing very well. As an artist, he's played with Take That and Boyzone. I feel a bit like I'm banging my head against a wall here. Bands like Take That and Boyzone - bands specifically and cynically assembled for the purpose of exploiting the music industry - do not belong in a discussion of integrity, except to serve as the worst possible example of a lack of it.
Sorry but I completely disagree with that. What your saying is that as a Pro Bassist he has no integrity...... As an artist you cannot judge his integrity as you have nothing to judge apart from his work on Tours as an MD. Thats absurd.
22. You think he's a bad example because he toured with Take That?
23. According to gossiplist.com, Chris De Burgh, famed for the hit song "The Lady in Red," was once banned from a whorehouse - for being too freaky.
