1. Double check your cables....... always the weakest part in any chain...... also on some of the GK cab's, depending which model you have.... you can run them Bi-Amp so make sure your not just running the HF... you'll need to use all four pins of the speakon connector to get control over both the tweeter and woofers Oh yeah and GK is distributed in the UK by Beyerdynamic.
2.
Hi guys, I picked up a Bass Microsynth a few weeks ago, but after its first practice it's since been confined to noodling around. I find it to be a humungous tone-suck when in my signal chain, so it's simply not useable for anything more than arsing about at the moment. (There was me thinking all EHX gear was true bypass.. d'oh) Another quirk of the Synth is that when engaged, I find it to significantly lower my output volume. Normally I'd have bunged it straight up on ebay, but I totally love the sounds I can get out of it and really want to incorpirate it into my live board if it weren't for the above issues. I know there are bypass pedals and I know there are boost pedals, but I haven't managed to find one that covers both, (I'm probably just being lame/lazy/both), and I'd really like to keep it to one because a lot of pedalboard real estate is already taken up by monsterous EHX footprints. Does anyone know of such a thing? Or any mods I can have done to the Synth itself? I did consider selling up and going for a Digi whammy or something, but they seem to command a ridiculous premium that I'm opposed to out of principle. I'll shortly be posting wanteds for the above, as well as a blend/loop and perhaps a nice reverb (incase that makes any impact on my options), so any advice is greatly appreciated! Cheers, Adrian
I FIND THE SAME WITH ALL MY EHX PEDALS......LOTS OF SUCKING!!
3.
Not a very good bassist in the first, but much better in the second song. So perhaps a case of nerves as the opening act. I can see the Khumalo comparison in the second song (a million miles away in the first). As others have said, he will better with age, and learn that beauty comes with stripping away the superfluous. I'm falling in love with Adele, imagine waking up to that voice in the morning. She's gorgeous too.
Voice like an angel........... face like a taxi driver...... .......I'M JOKING!!!!!!!!
4. Is this a 19" version or a portable? Also how many hours use do you think the heads have had?
5.
As far as I'm aware, this was just a preview for the new series which begins on Friday - think it will be repeated then P
Ahhh thats good..... I thought they had cut the show to just half hour.... I love that 'American Boy' tune.... even if it was a bit messy live.
6. Where abouts are you?
7. IMHO it seems that bands are selling themselves short.....
8. I actually double loop the lead through my strap...... whats that all about?
9. I'm playing in 3....... and it's not good...... one function band working most weekends..... one funk covers band just taking off in a big way..... one original project.... lots of recording re-hearsing and promoting..... I'm finding it dificult what with a full time job, missus and kids too...... somethings gonna give soon....
10. Thats pretty odd..... so you are definitely taking the line/balanced output into your card/interface?
11. I've recently purchased two SX 5 string Jazzers..... I don't like fender basses... don't like the necks.... I do like the look of a Jazz bass though..... These SX were bought to be modded and curb my interest in Jazz shaped basses..... These are just as good as any of the lower end Fenders I've tried..... the hardware and pickups are not as good as on the Fenders but the necks and the body/finishes are just as good. Saying that..... I'm not keen on the fretted one I bought..... the fretless is nice..... sounds good.... would be great with decent pre in. I would say these are as good as Squires..... then I'm no expert in Fenders.
12. still looking for a sensibly priced deep impact, Jamman and a decent delay pedal still have a nano clone to leave..... but not gone yet
13. We always delegate someone as Stage Manager if the venue does not have one.... usually one of our regular supporters.... that way all it's not seen as the main act pushing bands around and usually most bands adhere to being given stage direction.
14. Oh yeah and what trades you may be interested in
15. CAn you give me a brief overview of how you have been using this... ie fx/pre-amp.... multitrack
16. Most pubs would expect to pay up to £500. If it's a private function/Corporate... It's a hell of a lot more.... Also depends on how serious your band is... if your just a weekend pub band then I doubt you'll pull much more than this... If your a serious function band £5k + is not out the question
17. Lakland is under new distribution in the UK I believe
18. He's a bit better than pretty good.....
19. How noisy is this unit.... I've tried 3 others of these and they have all been a bit too noisy when recording...
20. Get back to your 80's roots with some Go-west and Paul young...... some great fretless grooves going on there...
21. That seems a bit excessive??
