I can't believe there's no compressor on the new amps! The old H/H compressor worked like no other and was the reason why a lot of guys bought the amps in the old days. Still using the old Bass Baby 60!
Spoombung - No we have not included compressors on the current models as they really don't warrant it yet. These are really aimed at the rehearsal/practice market. If things go well with the back-line range we may look at incorporating some more pro features such as compressors
We could do with a bit less of the nostalgia actually. I'm sure somebody will correct me if I'm wrong, but this is purely a branding exercise, with a respected brand stuck onto some Chinese products. There's nothing wrong with that, and they look really good, but let's not get carried away here.
Stevie.... With all due respect, we are not simply badging some chinese products....... Headstock distribution (Laney) have owned the HH brand for some considerable time now. It's taken a while to get things going with it but I can assure you that all of the products are designed here in the UK. Yes the majority of them are manufactured in the far east.... because we have to be competative. Also we have an extensive procurement system in place that allows us to do this with good results and confidence. Part of the reason why we give HH (and Laney) a 5 year warranty.

Hi All... wow loads of responses to this... I've been away this week so only just returned to these messages and PM's which will get responded to all in the next few days. Thanks so much for all the enquiries.

Obviously the new generation HH is very different to the old....... The Studio Bass 60 is much smaller than the original Bass Baby and is a completely different design. I think if we were to go down that route agin it would need to be something much more than the original. More names added to the list..... anyone else interested in reviewing the combo's? J
-
Cheers for the feedback guys...... Does anyone think that a modern day version of the Bass Baby would be something of interest to players? J
Very nice wee combos & good to see H||H back with something. I'd have offered, but my situation just now means I'm not gigging, rehearsing or even meeting the band for some studio time (renovating the house). I might PM you later with a different Q that you may be able to help with.
No problem.... please do PM me with any questions. J
What a brilliant idea. I've been mulling over a smaller lighter combo option for a while and the 120 would be right up my street (been looking at the Roland 120 XL recently). I hope this idea of yours works as well as I think it could - I'd love to review something like that, especially in a gig situation. Cheers Geoff
Geoff can you send me a quick pm and I'll add your name to the list as a reviewer.

Cheers Gafbass02.... you are on the list and have PM'd you. J

Hi Guys I'm after some of you guys to help me with some honest reviews of the new HH Electronics bass combo's. These are really aimed at the practice/rehearsal market but after having a play around with them myself I realised that they could be used in certain gigging situations. So..... I'd like to ask the BC community if there are any players out there that would be willing to participate in reviewing the combo's.... ideally in various gigging/rehearsing/recording situations. A mix of players would be great electric/acoustic/upright so we can get a good cross section. Now these combo's are not particularly expensive compared to some other brands but I think they offer great value for money and I want to get your reaction on this too. Please e-mail me at or message me on here. Once I have a few people interested then I can organise putting a plan of action together to get these combo's out to people. There are two models that I want people to review, the Studio Bass 60w and the Studio Bass 120. Pictures below (my demo models so may be slightly marked) Specs can be found here - http://hhelectronics...e=Studio%20Bass FYI Retail Prices inc VAT STUDIO BASS 60 £179.99 STUDIO BASS 120 £299.99 5 Year Warranty on all HH Electronics products STUDIO BASS 60 STUDIO BASS 120

I use the ipad for keeping all my charts and sheets on. It's easy to use and read. Also with a couple of the bands I play with we have different set ups that involve using Apps. We have several different pa set ups to depending on the gig and we've just bought the new Mackie DL1608 which allows us to each adjust our own mix on our ipads..... Works for us.
-
Depends on how zingy you need them...... I play a lot of slap in our sets and after a weekend of gigs I change strings. I've tried most brands and they all die at pretty much the same rate. I now buy in bulk from Status so it's around £20 a set

We've got a few of these for the band - http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0055CL5XE/ref=asc_df_B0055CL5XE7735085?smid=A35ATNU92FJ7LH&tag=googlecouk06-21&linkCode=asn&creative=22218&creativeASIN=B0055CL5XE

Great stuff..... We are adding Joy & Pain to the set list at the mo as we are gonna be doing some Soul Weekenders over the summer

I believe that there were issues with Tolex..... but they have now switched supplier. Don't forget that original owner has a 5 year warranty on Laney too ;o)

I've been mucking around with one for the last few weeks..... I work for the distributor and was interested in comparing against my usual head. It's very versatile and gives a great pallet of sounds.... it's just to heavy for my needs really. I know that it's gaining great reputation on the metal/heavy rock community. I'm told that Glenn Hughes uses them exclusively now

Bass/vocal song ideas for Open Mic Night
crez5150 replied to Budgetneil's topic in General Discussion
I used to do Superstitious with a loop pedal and that worked really well.... the audience always enjoyed it and joined in. It's good if you have the personality that you can get the audience to participate from the outset too.... depends on the gig I suppose. -

New Dirty Loops Cover - Rollin' In The Deep
crez5150 replied to AndyBob09's topic in General Discussion
I love it..... fantastic! Can't wait to hear the original material they are working on. It's not everyone's cup of tea but they are extremely talented players.... I think they will be gaining a lot of work writing/producing/arranging some well known pop artistes from what I've been hearing. I think they've been fairly clever in only so far uploading tweaked covers....... They have well know musicians/producers, A list pop stars all taking note! fair play. -
Spend your evening gambling and drinking....... Then maybe dance.....
