2.
Ha, I'm a vegan. I do love the names of some of the pedals though.
Vegan bassists unite \m/
  3. Wasn't expecting so much TC dislike! In what context would "gutless" be used as? Not enough power?
  4. Thanks for the input guys, volume wise isn't really an issue for me, it's more how much of the high end gets rolled off between the two? My synth can go a lot higher and lower than my bass and I'd like the amp to keep up! The vintage style tone doesn't bother too much as I think it adds character to my synth, but I do need quite a high low pass filter
  5. So on the verge of getting a TC amp, was originally sold on the RH450 but this talk of a low pass filter has warned me off considering I'll also be running my synth through it. So the question is what is the frequency range for the RH450, 750 and the staccato? I've read not to trust TC with ratings considering their wattage cover up for these amps!
  6. Wicked cool, thanks for the reply!
  7. Probably missing the obvious as I'm still gassing for a Boss-ES but can the two outputs be one with effects and the other without? Thinking of getting a gigrig three2one so I can plug my synth and bass into the same Boss-ES input but would like to have my synth output going into the effects loop (with all the effects) while my dry bass which does go through the ES can go into the front of the amp. Possible?
  8.
I'm GASing for a reverb pedal ATM. Mostly looking for a versitile ambient verb that can go from light and shinny to deep and boomy. Preferred features; infinite feedback, momentary switch to increase feedback, MIDI sync on any modulation, lots of controls to tweak. Extra points for weird/unusual.
Source audio ventris will do all of this (when it's released). For a momentary switch you could use an Empress Reverb and have an expression pedal for decay?
  9. Never heard of this pedal, sounds like a delay with just a short delay time, or a chorus without modulation?
  10.
Any amp with a DI into a cheap mixing desk will do you. Means you can easily mix in your computer/phone etc to play along with too. And the extra EQ is nice to have also.
I've got a focusrite interface but it needs to be plugged into the computer which is pretty useless for those spares minutes where I just want to switch the amp on, pick my bass up and away I go. Do mixers require the same setup or can they be ran independent of a computer?
I recently bought a pair of these and absolutely love 'em 😁. https://www.pmtonline.co.uk/vox-amphones-bass-guitar-monitoring-headphones?utm_source=google&utm_medium=shopping&gclid=COrNjJegjtMCFQ4R0wodV3MHVw Plug your MP3 player into the the aux socket and away you go. Perfect for learning new material for my new covers band without annoying the neighbours (or the wife).
They look super interesting but sadly they won't do when I want to actually play through my cab! Looking to keep my tone constant, yes I'm one of those perfect tone hunters, guilty as charged
  11.
Have you considered getting a Zoom B1on pedal in the interim? It's what I use for home practice, they're quite cheap and would give you time to try out as many heads as you want before taking the plunge.
Have used my housemates headphone amp pedal for a bit and just missed the voice of an amp. Currently using an Ashdown LB30 which is a lovely tone.
  12. So due to a change of living circumstances - lovely new builds with their rubbish sound proofing, I'm looking into the possibility of an amp with a headphone jack so I can play whenever. Ideally a SWR redhead would be perfect but they don't come up often second hand. Other than that not really interested in combos as I love my BF compact too much and when I get the chance I'd rather hear the amp through that. Was looking at the TC RH450 simply because it's got a jack, tuner and compressor all in one. Any other amps worth checking out?

    Pedal cable
I do not recommend EBS (or the clones made by Warwick); I tested a whole bunch of patch cables in a simple true bypass looper into a headphone amp when trying to diagnose the cause of noise in my signal chain. All the EBS ones picked up a huge amount of hum (presumably from nearby sources of interference such as my PC or dimmer switch), whereas the other ones with proper shielded metal jacks were totally silent. I've mentioned this elsewhere only to have others say they've experienced no issues with theirs. Neither did I until I decided to test them as above, so I invite any other naysayers to do the same!
So what did you end up with?
