3. Basics; The Fender Precision® bass provided the big, round tone found in almost every hit song from the 60's. To create a pickup with that much vibe and feel, we studied the pickups from Aguilar President Dave Boonshoft's personal 1963 and 64 Precision basses. The AG 4, 5, and 6P-60 pickups use all the period correct parts, including Heavy Formvar wire and Alnico V magnets. These pickups have just the right amount of mid-range "nose" to cut through a loud rock band and give all the deep support one would expect from a great 60's P-bass pickup. The AG 4P-60 is direct replacement for Precision Bass® style basses - please see the Specs section below for the AG 5, 5CL, and 6P-60 dimensions. The AG 5P-60CL has a smaller cover and accepts a narrower, 17.5mm – 18.5mm string spacing. 4. Basics; Rude, rough, and radical, this aggressive split coil design will chomp its way through any live or recorded mix. The NJ4SE uses the same hand wound pattern as our other NJs, but is given its midrange heft through the use of a finer enamel wire. The character of this pickup comes down to a pronounced lower midrange and slightly muted high end, which makes it exceptionally suited for finger style players who might want a solo bridge pickup that has a bark that bites. The NJ4SE is bred for the stage, where its hum-canceling clarity and boisterous presence will slaughter any noise that dare desecrate the circumference of its sonic facility. 5. Basics; A loud, clear and even response to four string bass players with no hum. This bass pickup allows you to get all of the Jazz-Bass vibe that you love, minus the hum. Being a hum-cancelling Jazz Bass pickup, it’s fat, thick, and a little thicker sounding than a single-coil Jazz Bass. 6. Basics; These split coil humbuckers are the result of consequent research and modern winding technology. The gorgeous visual impact of their 9,5mm pole pieces is clearly audible: Ultra fast transient attack, powerful low-end response, detailed midrange and brilliant highend for direct in-your-face, take no prisoners bass tone. Even the very bottom range of droptuned basses will stay tight, focused and alive. JMVCs can handle massive tone tweaking and interact superbly with active circuits and effects. They are available in matched pairs or individually. 7. Basics; Rebellious, uncompromising and cool as f***, James Dean - and the car he nicknamed the Little Bastard - are the inspiration for this iconic, all-tube mini bass amp head. Rated at 30-Watts, the Little Bastard won't rip your head off, but its EL84-equipped power section is more than capable enough for small gigs. And, of course, it won't put your back out on the way. The Little Bastard preamp stage employs ECC83 and ECC82 tubes and features High and Low gain inputs, front panel-mounted Effects Send and Return, rotary Bass, Middle and Treble controls with Mid Shift, Bass Shift and Bright switching, Mute switch, rotary Volume control and balanced DI output. The Little Bastard head partners perfectly with a range of Ashdown US Series cabinets. Full description; http://ashdownmusic.com/products/1/Bass-Amplification/1/Valve/11/Little-Bastard-/ She is in very good condition and comes with spare valves as pictured. If I can locate the roqsolid cover (I think it's in my parents shed somehwere..) it would be included in the sale. 8. This is bitsa jazz bass with the Lakland 44-60 neck dimensions as follows; Nut Width: 1.5" Nut Type: Delrin Fret Size: .041/.085" Width at Final Fret: 2.48" 1st Fret Neck Depth: .77" 12th Fret Neck Depth: .94" Fingerboard Radius: 10" Scale Length: 34" Frets: 20 She also sports Hipshot USA tuners and bridge with a stacked pot control plate. I bought this bass as is but I've updated the pickguard, shielded the cavitys, machined a truss rod entrance into the body (so you don't need to take the neck off to adjust) and widened the bridge pup cavity as it was a bit tight. On the 4th fret of the G string there is a dent (as seen in the close up photo) where she fell from her stand onto a pedal (the pedal was fine hoorah) which has never affected the sound of playablity. 12. Seeing as I only really play with headphones these days I can't justify keeping this around. It's in great condition with no marks or scratches as seen in the photos. Basics; Configuration: 1x12” Neodymium driver + tweeter Power: 300 Watts AES* *2 Hours test according to AES 2-1984 Rev. 2003 Impedance: 8 Ohm Freq. response: 40 Hz – 16 kHz Sensitivity: 100 dB 1W @ 1m Dimensions: H x W x D, 41 cm x 50 cm x 41 cm Weight: 14 Kg / 30 lbs Full description; http://www.vanderkle...abinets/112ext/ No trades. 13. Price is a bit of an estimate, never seen one of these for sale before so if anyone would be as kind to suggest a more realistic price it would be much appreciated. Sadly a total lack of information on this other than it's from the 1970s and made in Japan so take of it what you will. For an almost 50 year old bass it is in good condition but does need some TLC. Just looking for cash on this via PayPal friends and family. 15.
On their website: https://shop.moddevices.com/products/mod-duo-eu-and-gb Si
Pricey and figured as much cheers though.
 16. Big question, how much and where to buy?
 17.
Just got one of these. Really portable & really loud but inherently boomy as hell I'm finding. I'm not the only one as well, this opinion pops up a fair bit. Definitely not replacing my Genz gear, yet at least.
Heard of folk on talkbass cladding theirs in acoustic foam and plugging some of the ports to make the sound more defined.
 18.
I got a 1024 from Guitarguitar for £500. Fantastic guitar. According to Paul in the bass dept, they bought the last of the available Yamaha stock. The 1024 is a good bit better than a 424x having owned both. Can`t comment on the 5 string models but they seem to be really good.
Was there much of a weight difference between the 424x and the 1024?
 19. If they've got the same pups as the orginial they should be superb.
 20.
For no other reason than im bored i was just looking on Thomanns website at these. I was amazed at how much they now cost. Definitely not budget bass prices any more IMO. some are over £750. In a way i suppose that might instil more confidence in the basses, as they wont appear to be cheap basses, but im glad i got mine in the first wave of V7's.
It also means people are charging more for them second hand. Seen one that had an asking price for more than the original price, it was a joke.
