  8. You are oroginally asking if fretless will work in your situation. My answer is simply yes.In my last post,I mentioned my old fretless P.That was my sole bass at that time.My band were playing classic rock covers,Bon Jovi etc.You don't have to play obvious fretless parts i.e. long high slides, although they sound real sweet! You can still hear its influence subtly in first position stuff.I think you should go for it.Whats the worst situation? It ends up back on here in a couple of months for one of us dogs to fight over!!! (no offence guys!)
  9. Got mine on hold from local music shop.USA black,white plate,maple 'board,S1.Brand new!!!My 40th present to ME
  10. My first bass was a fretless. An Aria SB.You know the bass you REALLY shouldn't have sold? Thats another story!!!I have had a lot of fretless basses in the last few years and I always feel that I'm not complete without one.The best was a '96 precision in C.A.R. This bloody curse of the gas!!!
  11. One or two Newbies joined today and start by selling stuff. Is this on?
  12. Mike!! Are you still there? I tried one of these in a shop in Blackpool.Seemed pretty good.Don't know much about EUB's or the steam bass for that matter, but on its own merits,I would spend on it.And thats a big deal for me,as I swore I wouldn't have anything else with Stagg on it.Had loads of crap stuff including drumsticks etc and the rubbish I've had to repair for my students................
  13. I can vouch for this bass!! Played it and stood in awe of it too!Good luck with the sale Nick.P.S Still have those soundclips we recorded?
  14. Pre 40th G.A.S build up!!!! Must resist!!!!!!!!!
  15. Was this from HiperIon? If so,theres a vid on youtube of said bass in action
  16. Dirk Lance,Incubus;or John Myung Dream Theater
  17. I had a lined fretless P about 6 years ago.Bought second hand from a local store,I gave up smoking to pay for it!! It was chrome red (C.A.R?) and had no dots on the 'board, just lines.Rear of headstock had 50th anniversary sticker. Sold, withdeep regret,to fund drum gas!!!!! Seems all I needed was a good fart!
