  1. Its not hugely valuable, but worth doing!
  2. Cool. That’s more than I thought. These are still fairly bright sounding, but not for me.
  3. This is going to the local Facebook group in a little while if it’s not snapped up here. Admittedly, it’s heavy but it’s still pretty cool. Apparently Mark King used one (I’m making this up).
  4. Having picked up a few new bass books, I need these gone. Any offers?
  5. It was part of his act. A friend saw him a few times and said he was wonderful with the crowd. The whole moody guy thing seems a confection.
  6. I got this for fre, and giving it away for free! This is an 80s transistor amp that is gig ready. It’s been used and well played but still works. The high gain channel cuts out but low gain is fine. Collection only from Bristol (BS4)
  7. Cheers all, I’ve had some great replies and advice and have enough to crack on with. Will let you know how we get on.
  8. I’ve also got the booklet and the other bits too all for a Mex febder
  9. Yours for free or it’s going on the bin!
  10. Yeah they have a shop now. I think they’re still on eBay, but they’re giving it a go. Seems to me to just be rebranded Chinese stuff, but isn’t everything nowadays?
  11. Lindo is a bricks and mortar business. It’s about 2 minutes from my house…
  12. Cheers Phil. Your approach is the same as mine. I worked as a music teacher for a few years at a music college until it got a bit too much for me. Im a fan of self-directed learning, but I want people to learn new skills. Most importantly, to have fun. I’ve had a great replies here which has been really helpful. As well as learning the theory some just want to sing, so having a bank of 30 songs I can get the chords for and learn is perfect. I can get the chords for uke, guitar and piano prepared.
  13. I recently picked up a bass with the well regarded Velvet Blues on there. No idea of age, but they feel fairly new. They’re not what I normally use and as this is an EUB I need something that replicates my proper upright (Spirocores basically). Does anyone have an idea of value for the second hand market?
  14. That’s cool. My idea is to get chord sheets for the musicians and work through these. Thanks for taking the time to share, will definitely incorporate these.
  15. Something special just landed with Andy… https://www.andybaxterbass.com/collections/fender-jazz-bass/products/1962-fender-jazz-bass-sunburst
  16. Hi Pete, I’ll message you. Thanks for this.
  17. Agreed. It’s late 50s / early 60s stuff I need help with. When we get to 64 and onwards I’m fine. We do ask what they’d like to play, but obviously having a few prepared and ready is always good.
