OK, you can all give up the bass and go home now
Burns-bass replied to skankdelvar's topic in General Discussion
It’s often because they’re forced to do it. As a a child who was made to play cricket and go sailing (in ice cold water!) I know what that feels like. I found music was something I did alone and love it for that. -

Music isn’t a competition. Just enjoy what you do, and all will be OK. So many musicians make their cash posting videos on YouTube, but that’s not what music is all about. Played a blues jam a few weeks ago (and I normally hate blues jams) and it was great. Players of all ages and abilities with a packed pub and an appreciative audience. I’m sure a wunderkind knocking out fusion solos in their bedroom makes business sense, but it’s pretty far removed from actual music making. -

A soon-to-arrive set Waza Air means these great phones are up for grabs. These are supposedly designed for bass, and they are the best I’ve used (score the Waza air, but they’re 6 times as expensive…) They’re in excellent condition with very little use at home. The headphones are in excellent condition (I won’t say perfect or mint, but you get the idea). The box itself is a little damaged and the instruction manual has gone. It comes with the phones, the cable and the adaptor. Yours for £45!

This guitar was a present to my family and we don’t use it and have never used it. It’s mint condition, with the plastic still on the pickups and plates. I play guitar and wanted my kids to learn, but they’re too small (so I bought a shortscale Mustang on here). As such, this is surplus to requirements. Specs are here: https://www.epiphone.com/en-US/Guitar/EPIPY9647/Les-Paul-Special-II-E1/Ebony Pictures below. Collection from Bristol or postage at cost. Rock on, dudes!

This ks a good point. My 66 jazz needed the jack socket replacing. I kept the original for the completists (although I’ll be dead before I sell it…)

I find there’s an inverse relationship between how much I think about instruments and how much I play. The more gigs I play the less I care about the guitar. I’ve a lovely collection of basses from vintage to bespoke and settled on a classic modern Fender. The reason? I know it works… If you can try both and find one that’s a tool that helps you achieve the result you want.

Should I be excited, or vultures circling (eBay content)
Burns-bass replied to oldslapper's topic in General Discussion
I list all my bases at the price I'll accept (with the addition of fees and associated nonsense that eBay brings). That means BC members get a healthy discount. eBay is basically gumtree now. It's an online marketplace offering fixed price listings for most things. -
Yes, I get that. In the end, we built a room around the DB (as preposterous as that sounds, it's true). In the end we converted my loft and I've got the DB up there now. It's a great adventure that never ends...
