  1. I’ll be honest and say this is my first thought too. I’d never send cash to anyone through FB, Gumtree or anything like that. Hopefully this is a misunderstanding or miscommunication and will be sorted soon.
  2. Lend us £20 mate?
  3. Technically I’m replacing something (you’d know why!). Will pay my sub in a moment:
  4. Ahh my sub has lapsed as I’m trying not to buy and sell anything. But I need a new, low cost DB for outdoor gigs, busking, pubs etc.
  5. I posted on the FS the read but obviously been deleted as it’s a transgression. You can take a look on the wanted section and I promise not to break any more rules.
  6. Im still gainfully employed! All joking aside, it’s going well thanks. Something like 20 - 30 gigs a year which is about right for me.
  7. It’s all good. I wanted to say how amazing this bass looks and how incredible it must sound. Good luck with the sale.
  8. You wait for 18 years for a bus to turn up…
  9. This is the bass in question. https://www.andybaxterbass.com/collections/bass-guitars/products/1965-fender-jazz-bass-sunburst-3 My early 1967 jazz bass has lollipop tuners. (Serial number is 1966 but the pickups have a 67 stamp date). I have no idea what the reality of this (and in all honesty, I don’t care), but it is interesting all these differences. My 1967 bass is totally original but doesn’t have a button on the back of the headstock. Why? I don’t know.
  10. It was on their Instagram feed few days ago. I’ve bought several guitars from Graham at amazing prices. He (and the rest of the people at the shop) are brilliant. Thoroughly recommend them to anyone.
  11. I’m guessing you bought the fretless from Badlands? Looked like a lovely thing at a fantastic price.
  12. I was selling one of these but it was so good I decided to keep it. Lightweight, vintage feel and a slim neck at this price? Amazing!
  13. Haha I did. Two natural wood ones and a blue one. Obviously being set up and new so I didn’t touch, but they looked great.
  14. Absolutely brilliant!
  15. In Bristol there’s a really vibrant musicians chat group. That’s where I found two bands I’m currently in. (Was 3, one broke up!) I’m guessing it’s a case of searching them out, but there’s nothing on Gumtree or Join My Band that compares. Perhaps if you said where you live people could offer some insight?
  16. Facebook is where it happens now, at least where I live.
  17. Yes, I can see from this example that you're right: https://www.kennysmusic.co.uk/fender-usa-international-series-p-bass-1979-82-pre-owned-p8462/s8462?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=fender-fender-usa-international-series-p-bass-1982-pre-owned-p2370498&utm_campaign=product%2Blisting%2Bads&cid=GBP&glCurrency=GBP&glCountry=GB&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjw-5y1BhC-ARIsAAM_oKmv02ImyXvMmYicrN7W0bbn2kRkXQZ75VDAestt-yNptRSgXwLDsswaAgXzEALw_wcB Hope it's legitimate and the buyer gets a good price at a good price with no hassles!
  18. Wouldn't there still have been pickup and bridge covers even in the early 80s? Can't see any holes near the bridge or pickup.
  19. No, I’ve heard that. It’s the internal number that matters. Will get that today (and weigh it!)
  20. I’ve used both. The bass cube isn’t loud enough if you’re playing in a large outdoor space. The Street Cube is voiced for guitar and voice and isn’t for bass. (I sold one on here and have experience using one for outdoor gigs!)
  21. Depends on the type of music you want to play, but in Bristol there are several community jazz bands. As long as you can read to Grade 5, you can attend and play each week. They regularly gig and look like a lot of fun to be part of. This is a way to rapidly accelerate learning and development and the sort of standards they play aren’t hugely challenging. Perhaps something like this could be good for a year? (It’s how I started playing DB and got out playing very quickly.)
  22. I saw three Chowny basses being set up so yes they are still being sold.
  23. Fair enough. Where did you get the information on number? I’ve obviously read up where I can but I’m sure a new owner would be interested. There is a faint number inside and I’ll picture it tomorrow when I get a chance.
  24. I’m pretty sure I could get a semi-accurate measurement tomorrow. Leave it with me!
  25. Cheers Chris. They’re remarkable things and I hope someone loves it as much as I did.
