  1. I bought this and used it once at practice. It’s not giving me the sound I want (and I use the EBS pre amp which does) so it’s yours. it’s as new, no Velcro, damage, scratches and comes with the box etc. I got a good deal on here so passing it on for the same price… £200 plus a few quid postage.
  2. Here’s my 1970s Mexican Jazz bass in sunburst with blocks and binding. This has been used but is in good giggable condition. Everything works as it should (truss rod turns, pickups are great, etc) Check out the damage in the pics. Overall it’s great apart from a bit of a chunk out where the neck meets the body. Doesn’t come with a case but I can possibly secure one for an additional cost. Looking for £500 plus postage.
  3. Fender 75th Anniversary Jazz Bass Maple Fingerboard Diamond Anniversary - Used! This is my beautiful and barely used Fender 75th Anniversary Jazz. This was bought as a backup to my gigging jazz bass, but it’s too nice to take out. There is one mark on the top of the bass, but other than that is perfect. This sounds wonderful with the upgraded pickups. The finish is excellent too, looking both silver and gold. And it’s super light as well. This comes with the tags and the soft case too. Looking for £650 plus postage.
  4. Can add ASDA to this list now, as well
  5. Check out Irving Berlin. Could only play the black keys!
  6. A friend of a friend who runs a small recording studio was contacted by someone claiming to represent Sade who wanted to record some vocal tracks. He laughed. Turns out it was true. He co-produced her tracks for the last Disney record and made a fortune.
  7. Amen to all this. When my business was struggling I went to work on a friends fish shop. Descaling and gutting fish wasn’t easy, but meant I could keep some basses in house. Had to sell my 64 jazz though (on here, incidentally) which sorted me out. Guess it was worth it, but I do miss that bass!
  8. If someone can just post the FB link then everyone will have all the info they need. (I don’t use FB, so can’t)
  9. It’s a lovely bass and I’m sure will make someone very happy. The last Wal I had was a great bass…!
  10. It’s so good they’re all uploaded twice!
  11. If it’s a gigging instrument, it’s all part of the deal. It wouldn’t bother me. My old Boosey and Hawkes bass was in much worse condition. You have to understand whether the wear is caused by your playing or how you store or leave the bass. I’ve seen some players add a block or some kid of protector to the bass so they’re not laying it down on the ground, which can cause lots of wear. Wood can always be refinished but if you’re just going to damage it again, where the point!
  12. I check the local classifieds down ere in the West.
  13. I would suggest that if you donate money, that’s the easiest thing to do. Charity has no strings so he’d be free to sell the bass should he wish.
  14. I would have given them a bit more notice! Protect your health and only go back to it when you’re ready.
  15. Not sure it matters as the outcome is the same. EUBs are an incredibly niche thing to sell, so if we can amplify this through the community it’s important to do so.
  16. Absolutely stonking good bass at a wonderful price.
  17. Nah, I’m with you. I play bass when I’m gigging. I’ll practice double bass at home, but when I want to. I’ve been playing bass for 30 odd years and (without sounding like an idiot) I can pick up and play to a high standard without an hour practice each day. I gig maybe 40 - 50 times a year, which is where I really feel the love for bass.
  18. Thats Billy from Robert Plants band! Serious player.
  19. I had no idea the band knew. If this was the case, I’m the same as you - I’d be all over it.
  20. There are some hardworking and probably very talented musicians in this band. While publicly shaming Mick would help the community, it could impact a lot of people who have done nothing wrong. Perhaps a polite message to the band account? I don’t know how these things work, but this must be possible to do privately rather than publicly. If I was scammed I’d be arranging a road trip to coincide with his appearance somewhere, but that’s just me.
  21. How many times! The strings don’t need to perfectly bisect the two poles to work properly…
