  1. I recorded two albums with John Burns and did an awful lot of drinking and chatting about Genesis.
  2. that’s me. Looking for the H1 as this is a bit too expensive for my needs.
  3. If you do sell, let me know first…!
  4. These are as new. In fact, been played once by me, but it was something I never tried again. Come in the box and will be thoroughly cleaned before sending. You get C D E F G A and Bb Half the retail price. £35
  5. I have two double basses and logic suggests I don’t need them both. But yet I still have them. The problem is the wood one does stuff the metal one can’t. And vice versa.
  6. Understand. What are you going to do with it? Couldn't part with mine now (even though the Bryant plays better and sounds better)
  7. Half of my gigs are with a resonator, they’re an ideal pair!
  8. Glad you got it sorted and nice work. im tempted to get one of these to match the beast. https://baguleyguitars.shop/collections/pre-orders
  9. I’ve used teatowels stuffed into the F holes before! Now I have both a piezo and magnetic pickup fitted, so I can swap between them if feedback is too bad
  10. They can challenge your feedback and get it reviewed and removed. It seems my Reverb report worked. Which is good news.
  11. Obviously it’s all about getting the tone you want, but I’ve found the Stanley Clarke pre amp works really well. To be honest, you should be fine with what you have. As someone who has spent a huge amount on stuff I don’t need, I’d go with what you know and are confident at using.
  12. I've reported the listing there.
  13. Good work team. Let's hope it's stopped his antics on eBay. Alas, it's still on Reverb too... https://reverb.com/uk/item/73631808-fender-road-worn-60-s-jazz-bass-2008-sunburst
  14. I have a feeling I have played this supposed RW bass before. It’s actually a Harley Benton bass with a genuine Fender neck on it. The idea he’d remove the serial number is just dog sh9t. I’ve had a few of these before and this wear pattern is all off
  15. In most cases, a cheap double bass means an expensive trip to a luthier (f you can find one). Personally, I'd recommend buying one on here that's been cared for and set up properly.
  16. Of course, that’s very reasonable. Will PM you!
  17. The weight will limit the appeal of this. It’s typical bedroom dealer BS. If you can earn a few quid from it, then it’s worth a try I guess.
  18. Sorry Richard, you were pipped to this one. If I find another (I have one) I’ll let you know.
  19. Any interest for £25? I need these gone really.
  20. It's a lovely bass and I imagine sounds and plays incredibly. If you remove the plastic plate at the back, you should find a label with some details on it. It's likely to be handwritten and look like this. That should tell you what the wood was, its birthday, and satisfy a potential buyer. (I don't want to patronise you if you know about instruments, but unscrewing this won't cause any issues, expose wiring, or result in any damage).
  21. The bible for jazz bassists. I’ve never evolved beyond page 30, but don’t let that put you off. it’s in excellent condition and ready to share its jazz delights with you. Be prepared to transpose exercises into every key…
  22. I love all the Heath Robinson contraptions (it was me who used the drum stand for my Wav bass in the end). They’re all pretty wacky solutions but none that anyone would consider to be anything like an EUB or DB. Personally, I’d check out the full size (41”) scale NS basses for sale in the classifieds.
  23. who said Germans have no sense of humour? In this book Mr Klinghoffer provides a great and simple intro to playing double bass. Great accompaniment to the videos! £12 delivered
  24. I have a set of DB strings you can have for free. Send me your address and donate a few quid to charity and I’ll send them to you.
