That bridge looks like a human health risk to me. Love the look of this. I was in discussions with the shop owner before you bought this on Reverb! Well played, Sir.

I must admit when I have the SLBs (100 and 200) I never tried to bow them. That’s because I didn’t have the confidence or technique. I’m currently getting lessons and perhaps the SLBs were designed more for this than pizz. Very interesting, and it’s lovely to hear you’ve got a premium instrument you love to play.

That’s in an incredible state. Bravewood eat your heart out! The biggest risk is you apply too much pressure and sheer off the top of one of the screws. Guess you could get it re-chromed but I think an aged replacement would be better. You might spend £200 on a replacement 70s bridge but I wouldn’t bother. Keep this one on the case and fit a usable and high quality new one.

I’m sure it has a market but I’m not sure who. I owned one and assumed I’d play it when the kids went to bed. Never happened as I preferred my DB. I turned up to practice with it once and I got some odd looks and a few laughs.
-
I’ve had all the electric uprights out there (apart from the SL300 and Kolstein) and none is anywhere near a real DB. I recently picked up a WAV4 and it’s a lovely made thing but I’ve not played it once since o picked it up.

I've still for a brand new and sealed Bose speaker upstairs. I bought in summer when I had outdoor gigs, but I haven't needed to use it since then, and so it's now covered in (clean) washing.
-
I’m too tired to edit it.

You can get a 4/4 in the smallest cars (I have!). Last gig I got my DB, two 10” cabs, two amps and a leads box. We also got two guitars, two guitar amps, a PA speaker on and a coat, all in a 2034 Dacia Sandero. Fold down the seats and by turning the bass on its side, you can slide the neck between the two front seats and secure in place with a coat or some padding. Easy!

I’d be I tereted in the Krivo Chris.

Fascinating stuff!

I’m going to buy one as a back up for gigs.

Although this has me wondering a little bit… https://bassbros.co.uk/product/skull-bass/

They’re just good lads. Fair trade ins, reasonable prices and they are nice.

I asked at PMT and em this was basically what they told me. It’s one gig fee so I’ll order from Thomann. Appreciate the reply!

Personally, I’d replace a busted pot or jack socket with new ones rather than try and source a vintage part. It’s all part of instruments story after all. Alternative is that a dealer doesn’t know (or wilfully ignores) then changed part and claims it’s all original.
-
It’s with a dealer but I assume it’s a commission sale. Any real vintage dealer would do the work and stick it up for a bigger profit.
-
There’s no real definition. It’s because bits have been changed that it’s not as desirable to a dealer or collector. When people say “players instrument” it often means it’s damaged!

Fender jazz bass american special, part ways or not?
Burns-bass replied to Alexbass444's topic in Bass Guitars
I’d look at all these as a trade down on what you have in terms of build quality and diversity of sound. No way would I swap a U.S. Jazz for an Epiphone. -
Sort of similar design to the Rascal. Loved that and never bought one when I should.
-
This may not qualify as vintage, but it’s 100% collectible. I love these!
-
I’m a pathetic, puerile man and I feel ashamed this made me laugh.
-
I have just bought one of these and it’s ace. I’m trying to find the official hardcase but they’re all sold out. Can you let me know if there’s an alternative hard case that would fit? Mucho thanko.

Music moves on. People lamenting the death of bands as a music and cultural force are those who’d believe music peaked in the 60s and 70s. Theres plenty of good stuff out there. Put down the 483rd Pink Floyd reissue and embrace it!

They got the label wrong on this one.
