You know what - I can't even find MY transcription!! I am however planning to orchestrate it for a 4-piece bass orchestra for some of my uni students in 2011, if I ever get round to it, I'll send you a sibelius file?
Sweet, cheers.
Reeder is the better bassist for Kyuss, but Olivieri suited the early QOTSA "robot rock" style perfectly. Who's drumming? Brant Bjork or Alfredo Hernandez?
Bjork thankfully, Hernandez was good, but Bjork and Homme were the main songwriters and Bjork sort of held everything together. Without Bjork they'd have even more trouble calling it a Kyuss reunion.
-
Sweet, that's my kind of crazy. Any chance of the transcrition? I'd love to arrange it for a 4-piece rock band.
-
I'm going to the london show but remaining healthily skeptical. What I keep coming back to is that this is 3 quarters of my 2'nd favourite line up. I know Oliveri is more popular and famous, but Reeder was by far the better bassist for their sound.

Oh yes -
Pretty much my main bass idol, he knows how to play, and can do some pretty complicated stuff, but shuts up and sticks to the root when that's what's needed, he drives their songs, which is what good bassits should do most of the time.
-
Very effective in "post-rock", the guitars are generally noodling around in a highish register, bass chords can really help thicken out the tone. Best use of Bass Chords i can think of ATM: Bass Chords enter at 3:48, when they do it live it makes one of them jump.
Yes, that is my issue, with the pedal plugged in, it makes the tone of the bass much bassier, despite having no flange effect coming through. Its not a problem with the actual flange effect, just that when the pedal is plugged in, everything goes bassier.
Is this when it's in bypass? If it's when it's bypass then it's definitely a crappy pedal, you could get a true bypass box if you still like the flanger effect.
-
It'll just be that flanger, some effects aren't very transparent and have other tone effects when on. Although, depending on the controls, setting everything left might not silence the effect, just set it to a minimum.

Taking an auditroy stroll down Mogwai lane to celebrate the announcement of their new album: "Hardcore will never die, but you will". I think they win best album title ever. Also includes some hilarious track titles: "George square Thatcher death party" and "You're Lionel Ritchie" Been my favourites. -
As soon as I have some spare cash I'm buting another one and doing this to it. Awesome.
The new 65DAYSOFSTATIC EP, "Heavy Sky". Absolutely brilliant, nicely follows on from "We Were Exploding Anyway".
Did you get your pre-order early, or have you been naughty? I really wish I could have afforded the pre-order, I'll pick it up when i can afford it. -

The small bit of stripboard and the battery are just wedged in, a lot of pedals do that, even the very expensive ones, as long as it's done properly it shouldn't be an issue. The big bit of stripboard however is anchored in by a very visible stand off, soldering looks good as well, should be fine. -
I've learnt a lot of Muse songs over the years and I remember when songs like Thoughts of a Dying Atheist and New Born were had to play stamina-wise. I'm currently stuck at Stockholm Syndrome, but my band's music never requires me to play sixteenths at over 120bpm continously for a good minute.
Stockholm Syndrome's what helped my right hand stamina, Map of the problematique, butterflies and hurricanes and hysteria are good for it too.
-
Use a pick, i've never seen a punk band with a finger player, it'll give you the tone you need aswell. If you're set on fingers, just play a lot of fast songs, play 2 or 3 everday, and eventually you'll build up your stamina
-
The absolute essentials for the muse sound are a grindy distortion, a gated fuzz, an octaver (perferably a boss oc-2) and a filter. These will get you most of the synth sounds hes uses, and you'll also need them individually. An important part of his sound is that everything is blended with clean bass, not sure if any multis can do that, but the ls-2 is your cheapest stompbox solution for blending.
Even if it does work, surely you would find the chemical in the piss and isolate it to use instead of... well, just pissing on your hands.
The chemical is ammonia, which you wouldnt want to be dipping yer hands in unless it was very diluted, say for example, the dilution found in human urine.........

Not sure if it was his horrible thin tinny tone, but that sounded awful. So much fret clank.
They seem to be trying to be a darker more twisted version of TOOL both musically and visually. I really like it.
Unfortunately trying is no longer applicable, ISIS called it a day in june. I'd have given a kidney to be at their final show. They did support tool on one tour as I recall. -
One of the first things we were taught in our uni physics lab was lasers will kill you if you so much as blink at them cockeyed. They're not actually that dangerous, as long as you don't look directly into the beam, or put an appendage in the beam (depending on power and energy output). You SHOULD be fine with scanning lasers, i've seen them in plenty of clubs and such mounted on the celing point at the dance floor, i wouldn't put it at eye level though. What colour is it?

Currently on DR DDT's as I'm a drop C whore. But I had hi-beams before, which i'll go back to if I go back to standard
