1. 5 gauss is nothing (a strong fridge magnet is about 50 gauss), I'd check with your doctor about that, if it really is 5 gauss you gave to avoid, you're in for an interesting life. Nerd note: who uses gauss instead of tesla?
2. Oddly enough, the buckle rash has never bothered me, it just feels werid if it rests on the buckle, I either set it to just below the buckle, do it up round the side, or at one gig, I wore a t-shirt and a towel. Although that was for different reasons.
3. Interested in a trade for my tonefactor pulp mill?
4. how many george l's you got left? can you include some cable?
5.
I don't know, I'll see if I can find any clips or reviews that could convince me!
Clips and Reviews I'm helpful I am
6. You are an evil evil man, interested in a Tone Factor Pulp Mill + cash + love for the musket?
7.
Ok - not sure it really is for me then? The demo sounds on the website make it sound really squelchy - not a fair reflection then?
Hmm, maybe we have different ideas of squelchy, the samples on the site are a very good idea of what it can do, the wetter samples are the wettest it'll go, but yea they're a pretty good representation
8.
Just checked out the 3Leaf Groove Regulator and it sounds/looks fantastic - anyone got one that could give an honest appraisal of it?
I've got one, I love it but It doesn't really do full on squelch, it's kind of like a wetter discumbobulator, it gets quite wet, but it's still very transparent, every setting on it is useable, I don't have to worry about blowing speakers or clipping amps, the effects loop is very handy if you plan on running it with a fuzz (or you can set it up so the envelope is triggered by an external source, the kick drum mic or a sampler or whatever)
9. The discumbobulator definitley isn't for you, it's subtle, smooth and transparent, I loved mine, but it can't do dripping wet funk
10.
I believe Josh Homme played guitar through a bass amp with Kyuss, don't know the specific brands (prolly not a Squier tho , not that there's anything wrong with them particularly)
[kyuss nerd] Yea, He used his Ovation Ultra Hard Body GP's pretty much exclusivey once kyuss got going, and he played through bass amps quite a lot because they played in C standard and it just sounded better. Not sure about the amps, but Scott reeder and Nick oliveri used Sunn's and Ampegs so I imagine he used those at some point [/kyuss nerd] To actually answer the wuestion, I play my guitar through my bass rig all the time and it sounds great.
11. Got this from Higgie a while back, it's a great compressor, but I've just no use for one. For the uninitiated this is a tuned Orange Squeezer (vintage compressor) clone. It was modded for better bass response by Bongo (TB user) when Tayste sent it to him to review, which can be found here Crappy Pics: I'll let it go for [s]£75 Posted[/s] SOLD Also putting my Seek Trem up, it's a brilliant pedal but it just won't get used. No box unfortunately but it'll be packed very carefully and comes with the authentic ZVex Rag (yea, i don't know either). It's going up for [s]£130 posted[/s]. SOLD Trades considered, hit me up with ideas
12. Definitley put me down, I'll either be in york or canterbury
13. I ran out of patch cables, I think the power cables may have ethnically cleansed them because I'm missing like 10 (someone please sell me some) I'll probably move the pulp mill on, I should really have learnt my lesson that I don't need a compressor, but I just enjoy being poor too much. Although, with the trim pots maxxed out it does a very nice fuzz, but I figured it's probably not good for it so I didn't leave it there for too long.
14. Ideally: Korg Pitchblack (why didn't I get one of these sooner?) -> Digitech XP-1000 -> Boss OC-2 -> Human Gear Animato -> ZVEX Mastotron -> Lovetone Meatball (with exp. Pedal) -> HBE Psilocybe -> Boss DD-20 5 of which I already own, so I'm halfway to pedal perfection (although my perfect board stretches on beyond the reach of human comprehension and is powered by a million dying black holes)

Effect loop

The effects loops are generally meant for line level effects (i.e rackmount stuff) stompboxes should generally go in between the bass and amp
16. If you set it just right it goes all stuttery and sounds like almost exactly like birds, put it through a delay and it sounds just beautiful
17. Don't do it man! You'll regret it But if you do decide to split it, I'll probably by the discumbobulator back off you, I miss the bird song she makes in a feedback loop.......
18. All my name are named after my special lady friend at the time (which I thought was a musicians standard, but apparently not), my main spector is called Elli, my first bass (now my fretless) is Kerry, and my guitar is Anna. Only trouble with that convention is I need to have a girlfriend to get a new guitar, oh the humanity........
19. Go directly to BOSS OC-2, do not pass go, do not collect £200
20. It annoys me when people consider effects as only existing to cover up bad playing. For me, I don't consider effects as hiding or messing with the bass sound, I create basslines with effects, I never think "oh, that bassline sounds kind of weak, I'll play it with a phaser, that'll make it sound better". I think "I want this part to of the song to have phaser on it" Or I'll hum a part in my head as "doo-do-dah-doo-do-dah" with the dah bits 2 octaves up from the doo-do bits. I can't do that on my bass so I go to my whammy pedal. Basically I use my pedals to make sounds that I want to make but my bass can't, I consider them as extensions of the instrument I'll stop ranting now
21. yea, my soundblox phaser was plastic with a metal base, seemed sturdy enough though
22. In my covers band we used to do You Got Another Thing Comin, possibly the most bored I have ever been on a stage
23. Oceansize - Savant, the strings at the end always surprise me, even after the 100'th time i've listened to it
