its in a mxr sized enclosure! i should really get some pictures up of the pedals, the artist i've got to do the painting for me is really quite good.
Oh dear, I think my bank manager just shuddered in horror, how much would some customizations run me? How bout a footswitch for the feedback control and I'd want the jacks in certain places This is becoming a very expensive week, I might need to sell some fluids....

I was putting some stuff in the loft a month or so ago at my uni house (It's bass related cos I have to stand on my amp to get in there) and found 2 fornicating squirrels. Needless to say I politely excused myself and let them carry on

Oh dear, I just had a horrible thought, how big is the chimaera enclosure? I love my homemade feedback loop but I built it inside a russian muff enclosure and I'm about to build a board finally, and it hit me how much space it takes up, plus I don't have a footswitch in mine and i could really use a TB loop, if you can build the chimaera in an mxr or even bantam enclosure you may have yourself a customer

Loving the ring modulator and the tube boost, like the sound of the diffractor too, love a sound clip of that at some point To be hionest I didn't listen to the fuzz samples, for the first time I'm happy with my fuzz/od setup and the last thing i need is temptation....

I'm gonna have time and cash over summer and with a couple of music type projects on the horizon I've decided to finally build a pedalboard. Anywho, I was wondering if there are any cheaper alternatives to george l's for customs, i've got a fair few pedals so to hook them all up I'd need 20 connectors and 2 or 3 metres of cable, which would run £100+, which, call me old fashioned, just seems silly for patch cables. All I'm interested in george l's for is the custom length and very small connectors, I'm quite happy with my tone using the brightly coloured moulded plastic crap I have now, and I've heard a lot of people saying they didn't actually notice any tone improvement with george l's. So are there any less bankrupting alternatives that have very small right angled connectors, custom cable lengths etc? I don't mind having to solder them together as long as it's easy to do

it's gone now, wonder if evilBay stepped in (for once) or he realised he'd been rumbled? -

Well, if everyone's joining in......my xp-100 might need a tricky switch replacing or the firmware flashing or something, could I jump on the PM bandwagon?

Hey, just got this off Theo (Dosi'Y'Aanarchy) a few days ago, it's a great pedal, but i just can't justify 4 dirt pedals, this is great but I can get all the sounds i need out of the other 3. As this is a bit of an oddity round these parts I thought I'd go for a waffley explanation: Fuzzrocious is a company run by TalkBass member Ryan and his wife, he (mostly, I think) hand builds pedals from General Guitar Gadgets clone kits, then she handpaints them. The Green Stache is a GGG (general guitar gadgets) tuned Big Muff clone, not sure what the tuned part means, according to the GGG schematics the only difference between this and the green sovtek muff (considered by many to be the best version, especially for bass) is a few resistor values. Apparently the Sanford and Sonny Bluebeard Fuzz of much pedalhead lore is very similar to a tuned muff circuit, so this could make a good alternative without the inflated price tag, importing hassle, year long wait and stupid secret handshake stuff to get one Fuzzrocious site with soundclips and vids and info here Low-res camera phone pics: This thing is well put together, all the modcons, true bypass, 9v adapter, and it does have a battery connector. Apparently ryan has stopped putting them in his new pedals but as the gutshot shows, this DOES have a 9v battery connector. It's in good condition, few chips and scratches here and there but works perfectly fine. SOLD Also got my 18v Danelectro Cool Cat Chorus, great chorus, I've just got no use for a chorus atm, so I really can't justify £35 just to play along to the occasional tool song.... In great condition, couple of scratches here and there but nothing major, I'll include the 18v power supply too I'd let this go for £35 posted I'd definitley be interested in trades, ideally looking for a flanger/vibrato/phaser/tremolo but I'll consider anything that isn't a dirt/gain pedal (with the green stache I've got 4) I'd also sell both for a nice round £100 posted Cheers

Just arrived today, and I'm thoroughly impressed with it, the controls make it very versatile, it can do a huge array of sounds, big growly low end, or splatty glitchy squelchy high end. Anywho, how bout some badly taken pics? I did have a better shot of her insides but it seems to have deleted itself...... The penny is to illustrate how small and inaccessible the sub switch is Y'know, I think this might be a ZVex pedal..... Now I'm gonna waffle on about this thing, this is my first ZVex pedal and I had no idea how tiny they are, it's slightly bigger than an MXR box, just on it's side, it's very well put together, the battery that comes with it is a little loose, but i took it out anyway as i run it off my 9v supply, but the controls are what make this unique, so I'm gonna go through each one, full OCD style. Relax/Push: This is a source impedance blend, which is a miracle for us active players, no more squishy gating where gating doesn't belong, with full source impedance added (all the way to relax), the pedal responds just as it should, setting it elsewhere changes the character Fuzz: Pretty self-explanatory, this thing doesn't do subtle, so it's range is lot's of fuzz - even more fuzz PW: This controls the width of the square wave, from a symmetircal, roaring "regular" fuzz on the left, to a splatt, biting glitchy fuzz on the right. Past about 10'o'clock it has a kind of gating effect, at full left there is a bit of noise on high fuzz settings, but past 10'o'clock it's silent with no signal. Some other pedals have this as a texture control Tone: This actually only controls the treble, so on bass it controls the bite of te fuzz essentialy, with it most of the way left it can do a pretty good scooped muff impression. Subs: This has 3 positions, 1 is no subs at all, as you can imagine pretty useless on bass, 2 is a little more useable there is some bass there but it's not booming, 3 is where you get the booming. On 3 there is no low end loss whatsoever, as good as every bass specific fuzz i've ever heard. This is the best feature of the pedal from a bass perespective because it just adds or takes away the sub frequencies, doesn't change the characteisticis at all, so unlike other guitar fuzzes on bass, you get the full functionality of all the knobs, not just one or 2 settings. This is my main fuzz now, it's just so versatile, I've never played a mammoth, but from samples I've heard, this can do a lot of the same things, and it works with actives, for about a third of the price, this is my new go-to reccomendation for a mid priced fuzz. The biggest problem as lemmywinks said is the sub switch, it's so damn tiny and nestled right between the vol and tone knobs, I have spindly girly fingers, so it's not a big ptoblem for me, but I can see some people finding it very annoying Hmm, that turned into more of a lengthy review than first impressions, oh well, I'll get sound clips up next week when I'm back at uni and should be revising

Are you sure you put them together right? I've never used George L's, but you mention the cap eating into the plastic indulation, but I'd assume the wire you were screwing into the cap would need to be fully stripped? That would explain the crappy sound if it was only making slight contact with the actual bare wire
Update from me:
That's a hell of a board, how do you choose between your 6 dirt pedals, 2 delay pedals, 2 octavers, 2 synth pedals and 2 eq's, not to mention 2 guv'nors? Plus where did you get your messdrive? I didn't think electrix had any uk dealers?
WANT WANT WANT I love my Wooley Mammoth but god does it tear everything up!! Dan
From comments/clips i've heard it's supposed to be quite different to the woolly mammoth, it's supposedly a little tamer, not gated, but supposedly the bass response is just as good as the mammoth, but the impedance control is what really sold me, my Devi Ever cherry pop is great, but it's a wild fuzz, and it hates my active spector, I actually like the gated synthy attack, but there's only one or two settings that are usable below an open A, so a tamer, well rounded fuzz that likes actives is just what I need I can't stop talking about this thing.....

Should have probably done a better google search.....found a few around, music ground have them on evilBay for £110, which I thought was pretty reasonable, until I found this, I'm DEFINITELY getting one for that price, If only I didn't have to wait a week to afford it.......I'll put up some impressions/maybe some sound clips when I get it, with the impedance control and sub switch, this could be a very interesting pedal

I'm having serious GAS for one of these, does anyone know if they've hit the UK yet? I've checked all of ZVex's UK suppliers and no one has them, I could probably get one from america for the money I'm willing to spend, but I'd prefer to get one closer to home if I can

You're gonna get a hundred different reccomendations from a hundred different users, but it sounds like you're looking for more of a low gain OD, perhaps even dirty boost territory, the Bad Monkey is great for this, at low gain settings it adds a lovely tubey warmth and growl, but it can do more full on OD as well, without actually having tubes which would cost you 3 times as much. Mine was modded by one of our members, silent fly, and I love it, but it's really up to your own taste/budget. The cream Pie or the Barber LTD special recipe are some pricier boutique options too, there's plenty of choice out there
