1. Still looking to get rid of this, shameless bumpage
2.
Is that the standard (and pricier) Box of Rock or the Vexter Box of Rock which was the one I tried? I spent more time with this one that the others as I really did want to like this pedal - it's small and looks ace, but it just didn't sound right to my ears.
The only difference between the vexter and regular models is the paint job, the regular ones have fancy (read: expensive) handpainted enclosures, the vexter ones are plain painted, teh vexter innards should be identical
3. You sir, have synthy PM
4.
I have one of these for sale in the 'Effects' forum. http://www.martoneaudio.com/PulseSynth.htm And it's even got extra switches! Lovely synth-ness for half your budget.
The pulse synth actually looks very interesting, which means you have PM
5.
Where?!?

You bought a little fatty for 450 squids? You sir, need to spill the beans.
I agree, where the FUNK did you get a little phatty for less than half price? Was it at a police auction perchance? I'm not sure a drug dealer would have such good taste though.....
6. Some very helpful stuff here
7. Thanks for the advice people, what i'm probably gonna do is splurge on a deep impact, sell if it i dont get along with it, and get a decent octaver and envelope filter to combine with my fuzz/od to make a constituent synth sound
8. It's in html code, it won't display here for some reason, if you PM me your email address i can mail you the proper file edit, didn't think to make an image: This is the table of settings kiwi gave in that thread hamster linked to I can still mail you the file if you want
9. That £150 mf-101 looks very interesting, dont they usually go for £250+?, can the mf-101 do more extreme sounds? Subtletly isn't really a requirement for me, i prefer my effects extreme. this is kind of the sound i'm going for (which will be a deep impact), but i really want a wide range of sounds, i tend to have a paticular sound in my head and try and achieve that with what i have, rather than base a sound on what i have
10.
I would go with maybe a POG and a filter. Maybe the Electrix Filter, or something with and expression pedal control. I get some HUGE sounds out of my OC2 > Mammoth > CEB3 > MF101 > DL4 rig. Perfect for noisecore stuff!! I love borrowing my guitarists MicroPOG, tracks great and the +1 octave makes my rig sound even fuller (obviously!!). Dan
Combining pedals sounds interesting, but i've already got a whammy that serves my octave up needs
11.
Deep Impacts tend to go for £300-350 when they turn up. The Korg G5 is usually about half that, but I only found one sound I liked on it and it's huge. If you've got £170-ish for a G5 go demo a Bass Micro Synth instead, it's a really good pedal. It won't do pure waveforms but it mimics that classic Moog bass sound surprisingly well, and does a bunch of other tricks too. And its filter is just generally a bit special, nothing sounds like it. For the money I think it's a brilliant box. It depends what sort of sounds you're going for really. Can you link to some tunes for us?
I'd probably be willing to spring £300 for a deep impact, are they as good as their newer, cheaper rivals? Is the price justified? The microsynth does look pretty good, what else is there available though? I had looked into the G5 and it's size put me off straight away. As for sound, that's a difficult one, I'm a big muse fan (hence the deep impact lust), but the stuff i'm mostly playing nowadays is post/noise/art/experimental/punk/drone/stoner/dance/rock. I'm probably gonna get a bass and drums duo going after exams, think death from above, lightning bolt, mad capsule markets that kind of stuff. Versatility is mainly what i'm after, i enjoy playing all sorts of stuff, and i like having a very wide range of sounds, also with just bass and drums, a big full sound would be good too, i play a lot of lead/high register stuff too, so bad low end tracking wouldnt really put me off if the rest is good.
12. I'm in the market for a synth pedal, but it's an area i've got little experience in, I had an Ibanez sb7, which i liked, but i defintley want something with more versatility. I've got quite a budget (£250 max) so i'm looking at the high end (not quite as high as an octavius squeezer though). I'm sorely tempted by a deep impact, I've wanted one since i first heard of them, but are they worth the exoribtant money? Is there anything newer that's better and cheaper? I'd appreciate any advice
13. you sir, have PM

akai deep impact

Hmm, this is a little eerie, just today i did some maths and realised i'm gonna have about a grand spare from my student loan next term, so i've resolved to get one of these (I've wanted one ever since i first heard of them), and at the same time a 2 year old thread gets ressurected.... anywho, may aswell take advantage, are these things actually worth the exorbitant prices? (I've earmarked £300 max) I've heard about power supply problems, bad tracking, software corrupting, some people say it's too subtle etc., would i just be better off ignoring the hype and legend status, getting a EHX Bass Microsynth (I do actually want a synth pedal), and saving £150?
15. This could be really really really useful for me, i'd love to hear how it responds to bass triggering
16. One more shameless bump for price drop, now £30 posted
17. This may have changed my mind about octave down pedals (If you need an extra octave below, your amps not good enough), that thing sounds good. Damned good.
18.
Which place in Leeds was it? Music Ground?
Can't remember, it was a while ago, could have been, £1500 is certainly their price range, and whenever i've been in the staff have been rude and condascending, so it could be
19. Another shameless bump, I'll be in london this weekend and i really want rid of this thing (I have a tiny room and it's taking up lots of space) so i'd be willing to arrange a collection in central london, then it'd be £28

Pitch Shift

Two words: Digitech Whammy on it's own it it only harmonises (original and wet signal), but you can get a napalm whammy blender that gives you 100% wet signal: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Napalm-Whammy-Blenda...%3A1|240%3A1318 it'll be expensive though, for both you're looking at about £200
21.
Banned for not buying it? That's just stoooopid.
well, he's not entirely innocent, he said he would buy it if he liked the way it played (but only cos they have a: no serious interest - no try policy), played it for an hour, and then leftt
22. I'll defintely give this place a look next time i'm in the area, are they really uptight about letting people try things? (I don't mind trying on guitar), in my experience shops (well, the staff) really don't like people trying expensive stuff and get really arsey if you don't buy it (a friend of mine's banned from a leeds music shop for trying a £1500 vintage fender and not buying it)
23. Shameless bump for slight price change, now £35 shipped
