  1. I'm gonna have to start talking to the people I live in a house with 🀯
  2. if we take the meaning of 'ultimate' to mean last or final then good-oh!
  3. Skimming through my large collection of electronic there are loads of great covers e.g
  4. I find it difficult to single this one for criticism out as it sounds like a zillion other emo type bands. A very formulaic sound coming out of the US in the 00s
  5. That was cringe-making and woeful but then no worse than the rest of Deacon Blue's back catalogue especially the dire Real Gone Kid which still gets played on Radio2
  6. Man alive, there's a whole lotta shyte in the metal genre but this is the cream of the crop kinda. Got to 1.21 and started losing the will to live. Looks to me all their effort went into their costumes rather than the music.
  7. I guess REM were pretty much at the forefront of US based alt-rock, the antidote to the ghastliness of Journey, Boston, Styx, Kansas, Heart etc. Mind you IMO they started on a great high with Murmur, which they never matched. For me this is the best song they ever made
  8. True in my case but then I'm not familiar with great album covers by bands etc I'm not interested in. Just quickly Google imaged some to remind me. These are the two best covers of albums I don't own
  9. Blimey I forgot all about them. Used to have the attractively packaged Earth Song EP. I bought it on the strength of the reviews comparing them to Joy Division, or was it Killing Joke. For some reason I didn't check em out further
  10. Like the venomous spines on a Lionfish, the great thing about Roger Dean album art is it acts as a warning to only approach with great caution
  11. He's a cross between Max Zorin (View To a Kill) and Pavarotti
  12. May I introduce you to Ken Snyder (no relation to Dee as far as I know but you may know better) known to his south of the Mason Dixon line christian fanbase as Ken, man of several fringes. Enjoy and add your faves
  13. What's not to like eh ladies and lads (? )πŸ˜πŸ˜‰
  14. I mainly like computer art. Probably my #1 is front pic of Lemon Jelly's Lost Horizons
  15. My current partner lets me hang four of my basses and guitars on her living room wall as she think's they're lovely to look at ☺️. She'd support me if I was playing in a band but as she thinks my taste in music is largely pantastic whether she'd come and watch me would depend on what the band played. My previous ex was also supportive to an extent but thought the band I was in at the time made a godawful racket 😁. My second wife was highly strung, jealous and didn't trust me. She thought the singer was a player and would've led me down the wrong path. He was and I did, but it was a self-fullfilling prophecy. I thought as I was being accused of dirty shenanigans I might as well do something to be guilty of.
  16. Out of interest, why was that? Would she have preferred him to play violin in a string quartet or was music just a big no-no for her?
  17. While I'm a big fan of Joy Division I never really got into New Order, their output deteriorating with each album having started on a high with the 1981-82 EP , which contains and
  18. Make that 3 here. IM headlined the Saturday at the 2014 Sonisphere fest. Me and the good lady went back to our tent just before they came on. I'm not a fan of any Brit metal bands TBH and that includes Sabbath and Priest. There are lot of bands whose music I don't care for but who seem likeable and easy going, IM included.
  19. πŸ‘ This isn't the usual post-punk fare although the band emerged from the Fire Engines in the early 80s.
  20. Driving back down to my boat in Gloucestershire it's been Scientist Meets The Space Invaders, one of the best albums by the King Tubby prodigy and former Peel fave.
  21. The only time music categorisation has any point is for when you're having a shufty through the CDs in HMV. I'm ok with top level categories i.e. rock, pop, country etc but the rest is futile. Mind you it's nowhere as irritating an issue as fkin tired, worn out 'greatest' lists / debates.
