1. I've just looked at these and they seem very good, plus some good positive comments on this thread, but very pricey to pay on the off chance they might work ! Do you need to go to a specialist to get these ?
2. I'm really struggling now to hear my bass on stage & in rehearsal. I play in a heavy metal band and stand between a powerhouse of a drummer to my right & Full Marshall stack to my left. I use a Markbass LMT into an 8x10 and can't hear it over the din. I know my hearing is damaged to some extent (verified) but I need to do something. It's not that my rig is not powerful enough as the band complain I'm to loud. I understand that bass frequencies travel in a funny wave form so are louder further away from the source, but that doesn't help me stood right in front of the bass rig. I've tried normal industrial ear plugs which does help to dampen the noise of the snare and guitar next to me, but I still can't hear myself. Is it possible to get plugs that will cut certain frequencies (snares, cymbals & guitars) allowing me to hear my bass better ? Cheers
3. As stated !! What have you got ??
4. Would you swop for a CMD 102 combo ?

8.
Don't suppose you still have this?!
Yes I do, but its so good I decided to keep it for rehearsals
9. Thanks guys, I've mostly have used rotosound swing 66, but have recently changed to Ernie Ball Cobalt Slinkys. The Lakland has these at 50-105, nice strings but really messed up my string height / action. I've already bought the 55-110 & a Hipshot drop D to go on the Stingray and following the comments above like the idea mixing up the sets, but think I will try the heavy gauge on the Lakie as well with a good set up, as this is my main bass. But many thanks for clarifying the 110 route
10. Hi guys, would appreciate some advice on this. My band plays with the guitars tuned to Eb, then on some songs would drop the E string down a further tone (Db). This tends to make the strings a bit sloppy (45-105). To help overcome this, should I go thicker, 55-110 or thinner 40-100 ? Will be sending a couple of basses of to have a decent set up with which ever strings would be best. Thanks, Dusty
