  1. How's the zoom? I'm on the fence of the hx stomp, I know it's great but knowing my luck I'll pull the trigger and they will release and updated version 🤣
  2. Those of you gigging, what's your multi effects of choice? Are you pairing it with a di? How many pedals are you adding to it?
  3. New to me, picked up second hand, gotoh equipped jazz bass. This is now strung with some flats and I am blown away with how nice it is / plays. Previous owner had upgraded jack and installed a series / parallel push pull pot. It's lighter than I expected, certainly less weighty then my atk 400. Might have gotten lucky but I'd recommend this
  4. I'll keep an eye out for the sonic so! I've done the opposite of this thread, saw a Harley Benton jazz gotoh, with a mod series/parallel switch in my price range, so going to add a passive bass to the collection and pop some flats on. I'll still hunt for a p bass too (I promise)
  5. That's a lovely bass 😁 I know you have specifies UK post, would you be willing to post to Ireland? Admit I'd have to double check if I'd get hit with customs my side
  6. Love it ! Sending it back must have been a pain. Did they realise or had you been charged twice?
  7. That is an amazing looking bass!
  8. I just ukulelewales, they have a great video on attempting this, it didn't go well, I don't think I've the disposable income to be binning flatwounds
  9. Contacted them today, seeing if they would do a set of flats, no joy. Even worse the Shopify shop blackstar has, doesn't ship to Ireland, so that's that plan nixed
  10. Hey all Anyone out there playing the steel string version of the Kala solid body or black star carry on bass? If so what strings are you using? Can you cut strings down? (Without too much hassle)
  11. Can't abide the lack of a tone knob
  12. Any opinions on the pb50? Never played a single coil p bass
  13. I'd love to buy second hand from a member of the parish, but shipping and customs to Dublin adds to the fun
  14. I'll keep an eye out for a squier or a sx so. I realise half the time we play with our eyes anyway
  15. @PaulThePlug dare I ask how much was the total spend?
  16. 100% agree on the colour scheme.
  17. Ok on a dog walk and listening to the stranglers. Any recommendations on a cheapy p bass?
  18. I hope it settles down for you. I had a chance to play a fretted acoustic style ubass, softer playing seemed to help, but any misstep in fretting was causing buzz for me
  19. The Dublin uke collective had a p bass in the mix, which was great but the hofner was so much more bassy with a capital B.
  20. Great day, great crowd too Missed a few early in the day but bad mouse orchestra stood out, As did ukulele Tuesday, if anyone can I'd the bass in the video, I'd love to know!
  21. Thats really good to know cause I'm nearly driving to Limerick from Dublin to collect one sight unseen @SamIAm I went to the ukulele hooley, not a u bass in sight. Best bass tone of the day was some sort of violin / hofner bass
  22. oooh thank you..... so harley benton vs batking, 6 euro in the difference at 170 or 176 (batking is more expensive, or take the drive to pick up the older sb piezo kala for 190?
  23. I had tried to order the batking but it doesnt seem to want to deliver to Ireland, I will have to stick to thomann or local second hand ads
  24. I prefer the look of the piezo solid body's. I know I should be going after sound and feel over looks but I feel if I'm springing for a ubass with a split coil Im nearly at just get a short scale territory. @SamIAm are they fretted or fretless?
