1. Never thought of that.
2. I see some gorgeous basses some that like the schack carbon basses ( dreamt of owning one like Kai Ekhardts one for years!) , overwater 5 ers and 6 ers, Dingwalls....all with 35" + scale lengths....I mean FFS !! I know all about the reasons...but some over waters seem to go for really reasonable prices secondhand...then I read 35/36" scale length AAAAARRRGGGHHH!!
3. I like over waters...but if don't like 35" scale length...what's the scale length on yours?
4. Aaah..actually..I think that's plain too...:-(
5.
I didn't spot that. The D'Addario is plain steel, but the Rotosound appears to be roundwound.
You sir are a star, and a gentleman....you've really helped out there.....THANKS!!!
6. I'm afraid not. If you near Windsor ( Berks)...come on over and try it....kettle will be ready too ;-)
7. Looking for single bass strings on an American website...they sell plain strings and " hybrid strings"... What are hybrid strings???
8. They're plain....I'm after a wound one...thanks for trying :-)
9. I'm having a really hard time trying to find a 20 thou wound string for my bass."in England...it's totally crap. Does anyone know someone who sells them...there must be someone in the country surely???
10. Is this a 34" scale length?
11. Im selling my beloved and extremely rarer German made Miller bass. The bass is 100% carbon fibre in construction, made from 1 piece of carbon fibre...and completely hollow. The bass is VERY LIGHT..WEIGHING AROUND 5LBS! It is fitted with a Haussell MM type pick up with a 2 way switch...for series/parallel. The bass is passive, and uses conventional strings, clamped at the headstock end. It took me years to track this one down. I seriously doubt you'll find another. The company website gives very little info..but each one has to be made individually..none are available "off the shelf" The condition is excellent..but there are two dings on the back of the neck Im asking £900, but don't be nervous about making an offer. Not really looking for trades....but I do like a nice bass so if you have something out of the ordinary..I'm willing to listen. pics.. 12. I'm a fan. I love the build quality and attention to detail. I have the 20 th anniversary model...and it's the best bass I've ever played. End of.
13. I've owned my "Harley" for quite a few years now, and have preferred it to many other very expensive boutique 6 ears that I've owned..( they've all gone now ..but the Harley remains). My question is....does anybody know what pick ups they use.....and what preamp? It's just that all the sounds are useable..and the preamp sounds great too.Does anybody know???

15. Lovely bass. What is the string spacing?...and are you looking to trade at all?
16. What a complete and utter knob.
17.
Just had a quick google, Quientin Berry (Sp?) that should lead you in the right direction.
YES!! That's the fella. Ditto looper.....thanks mate.
18.
Read the title and thought you'd met my ex girlfriend.
Lol
19. No.it was a black bassist...good player with a RH that played the strings...coming up from UNDER his bas....odd.
20. Sometime last year..bass chat put a video on Facebook with a bass player ( with a strange RH technique) demonstrating a looper....I was impressed..but can't remember what looper it was....can anyone help?..
21. Naa...it'll sell because its made by Linda Manzer.....she's one of the biggest names in luthierie.
22. Hi..any moderators out there..I think I've posted this in the wrong forum...it probably belongs in "bass guitars".... Any chance of moving it? Ta.
23. What a great question....I think in most cases it's the dreaded GAS! I am in a quandary right now...I've got a really cheap 6 er...all the tones are ones I like....the bass sounds really good...honestly..its a Harley Benton 6 ...it's my go to bass..over my very expensive exotic basses.....BUT there is something very beguiling about having a bit of spare cash...and seeking something with very pretty woods....mega pick ups...ultra preamps etc.....even though I've owned basses like that, and couldn't get a tone I liked, and spent an unhealthy amount of time knob twiddling...... The ' Harley' is brilliant....but I'm still browsing the for sale ads for a ' decent' 6 er.......go figure!!!
