1. Morning all. I've seen a Toby pro 6 in bubinga up for sale. Simple question...are they crap? They seem to be very "Pimp-able".... Maybe changing the pups and preamp. Maybe they are really cool basses as they are.....anyone have any experience with these admittedly great looking basses......too good to be true?
2. Wicked.
3. That is gorgeous
4. That guy is f*****g awesome! love it!!
5.
How spooky. I'd never heard of these before a random google session led me to reading the following interesting article recently. And now there's one on Basschat! http://doktorsewage....ampeg-svt-200t/ Good luck with the fix. There's nothing quite like a nice row of power transistors for me. Cheers Geoff PS I had to google a certain word from the first paragraph, which I promise wasn't the original random search that led me there in the first place
Yeah yeah I believe ya.....lol
6. Mine is the 20th anniversary model in walnut. Scale length 34". I've owned it from new. Its in excellent condition.
7. Don't mind the looks...but mate....that headstock. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Custom-5-Strong-Bass-Guitar-Narrow-Neck-/251449914923?pt=Guitar&hash=item3a8b95362b
8. Just a feeler..I have a 1989 Alembic anniversary...my absolute pride and joy...and the best bass I've ever played...period. I a increasingly playing 6 string bass these days...so it's just stays in it case. It is 100% original??with all the 'bit and pieces' I'm looking for an Alembic 6 er..with some cash adjustment..depending on which model. Someone out there has one I'm sure....and is regretting taking up 6 string...here's your chance to return to the 4 string club....while I enter the 6 string club:-) Cheers. Pics are on this page on my website...you'll need to scroll down the page a little. Click on the pics to get larger images. http://www.rajanspolia.co.uk/?page_id=6
9. Mine is the solid state ampeg......one of the nice sounding ones....they get surprisingly good reports from their owners, in spite of living in the shadow of their more famous valve cousins.
10. My 1980's svt200t started playing up and I finally decided to sort it. My plan was to get it fixed, sell it, and buy a modern mini amp...either a markbass...or an Aguilar . Ampeg parts are scarce...and repair of this amp is gonna cost. On talking to the expert....( at surrey amp hospital) ...he couldn't say anything good about the mini amps I had in mind...and so it looks like my faithful ( and great sounding) svt is getting a full refurb...and hopefully give another 25 years of sterling service......I am secretly pleased...even though its a heavy bastard.
11.
There's some serious signs of aging to the body and it looks like it's been refinished in a horrible bronze colour.
Hahaha...awesome dude
12. This is some kind of wind up..has anyone actually received a reply from this geezer???
13.
Everything? It's hardly got anything. You must be new here.
Haha!!
14.
Everything? No ... There's no DI out, no built-in tuner, there must have been room for an AX7 somewhere if only they'd looked, and it has no flick switches at all ... got to have those flick switches. Failing which, there's always room for some more knobs:
That's a nicei piece..I adore unusual basses.
15. I'm gassing for a Mark Ramsay design bass..either a single cut 6/5.. Or one of his gorgeous chambered Delano extender powered basses, again a 6 or a 5 ....they look the mutts nuts..and sound pretty awesome too. http://www.rmiuk.biz/Hummingbird.php?tab=0#TabbedPanels1 That'll do nicely.
16. Marmite bass?..looks like it from most of the reactions....but a bass at this price.....with such a high spec..and what looks like good / very good build quality....what's not to like?
17. I think its gorgeous
18. Lovely playing man. That bass sounds gorgeous ..I was always put off these because of the laminated tops.....but I've gotta say..it sounds beautiful.
19. What a stunning bass.
20. Stunning
21. Evening all. My current 6 string (34" scale) is currently tuned B-B. I have been thinking for some time that I'd like to experiment with E-E tuning. Can any one suggest string gauges.....maybe staring with 110/120 for bottom E and going from there. ..it would be a bonus if anyone has done the same ( I'm sure they have) and if anyone knows if a pre made set is available ...if not its no big deal to buy individually. Thanks in advance.
