1. Up for sale (regrettably) is my lovely handmade bass in the style of a warrior Bass. I bought it from the maker a few years back, and made a few upgrades..the pickups (Nordstarnd Big Singles, Brass pickup surrounds, and grahite finish control knobs..all very retro). The bass is active, but I don't know what preamp is fitted. The wood is lovely, and it has 26 frets....cool. PRICE DROP...£500 (was £600) I'm up for a trade..for an interesting bass. Please check out the attached pics[/b
2. I have for sale a model '80 Daion twin neck acoustic guitar. Even pics of this guitar are rare. It is cosmetically very nice for it's age (approx 1981) Plays really nice, sounds really nice. There is a slight depression on the top ..just in front of the bridge, I have had it inspected and checked by my luthier / tech (Joe White), and the guitar is structurally 100%. The chances of finding another are approxiamately NIL !! PICTURES CAN BE SEEN HERE I am asking for £1500

CD Baby

Hi to all, I've now made it possible to download the new album from CD baby it's taken a while. Single tracks are available or indeed the whole album. For those who like bass solos..there is one on the track "Gandharva"...fretless, and also one on the track "Night Train To Dheeradhun". One of the advantages of producing your own Cd's is you can do stuff like this..without anyone else saying "No way dude !!"
8. There is a chance of organising some kind of mini tour as a 4 piece band based on the music from the new album. the line up comprising.. Bass/Acoustic G@@r Tabla Cor Angalis/oboe Sax As soon as I am any the wiser I will post.
9. Any feedback would be appreciated chaps and chapesses.
10. I now have downloads available. HERE there are 3 bass / tabla duets that you might enjoy listening to. they "Delirium" "Slow Belly Dancing" "Indo Funk"
11.
Agree; Rajan it sounds great powerful & emotive Do you play live (as in do gigs)? Brendan
Many thanks chaps. I do gigs (in theory) but unfortunately as I'm sure many of us are finding..gigs have just dried up completely..especially for non-mainstream music. I've played most of the world music feativals in the UK (including WOMAD), but there doesn't seem to be any interest in the kind of stuff I have to offer...so I do what I love best...practice, practice..and make CD's
12. I own one, and have had it since new. They were made in japan in the 80's and in my humble opinion are nice sounding basses. The one I have has is very player friendly and has got great useable tones. They were fitted with di marzios (p-type). The only thing is it probably won't be your cup of tea if like lots of bottom end. But great for jazz type back pup tones and also a good slap bass. They were £150 ish brand new..a real bargain. Hope that helps
13. Hi to all. my new cd is now available here I have uploaded some tracks on my myspace page HERE My music is Indian instrumental music mainly acoustic g@@r and tabla, but as a bassist I have included quite a bit of my basswork too. The track "Tears For My Father" (see myspace page) is a duet with fretless bass and cor anglais. I hope you all check it out. your support is of course appreciated.

16.
Played this bass ,it's very nice, lovely slim neck EDIT; Actually i've played two Les Evans basses and they were both quality builds I have a les evans 6...the build/sound quality is up there with Fodera.....best kept secret in the bass universe...the man is a class builder.
17.
I always used to use the rotosound sets of 30-40-60-80-100-125 on my Yamaha TRB-6, but I think Status do a lighter Hotwire set with a .25 guage top string. Rich.
Thanks for that Rich
18.
I use light Elixirs set on my 7 string which I tune BEADGBE- so that's .040-095 or 100 for the standard four, a .032 for the high B and an Elixir guitar string which looks like it must be a .024 for the high E. I thought it was lighter than that but that's the lightest wound single string I can see. Also a .125 for the low B if anyone's interested. Hope that helps. edited to add- that's on a 34" scale BTW. Also, keep some old string handy if you use the guitar string route- I had to thread on a bass ball end to get the top string to stay in the bridge.
Thanks for that. I actually want a 7 string..and tune it like you...but I have way too many basses. What 7 string do you use...and have you ever played one of the ones from the 'far east' Thanks for the info
19. I now have a few 6 strings all tuned the same B-B . I want to string one up to tune from E to E (same as a G*****R) but obviously an octave lower..can anyone suggest suitable string gauges...for a 34" scale length?? Thanks.
20. This is the bass I want at the moment....but the 6 string version.. http://www.lightwave-systems.com/products/...bass_guitar.php that and a schack carbonite 5 or 6...with a 35" scale
21. Item withdrawn...looks like I'm keeping it...wasn't REALLY sure that I wanted to sell it in the first place anyway. MY GAIN....YOUR LOSS !!!!!
22. With basses, amps and extras all offering a mind boggling array of tonal flexibility I am interested in the starting point that players use when dialing in their tone. For example if you have an active bass with a 3 band eq....and an amp with (say) a 5 band eq...assuming that we start off flat.....do you boost /cut from the bass THEN the amp....or the other way round....and why. your thoughts gentlemen please.
