I imported this beauty about a year ago from a guy in Canada. It is a really high spec bass, and looks completely wicked. Unfortunately It is not for me.. I want a single coil sound...so its up for trade here. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=57461 Check out the pics though
Nice basses, but not US made as stated in the specs. Iturra is from Chile. There are plenty of beatiful basses on his website http://www.alfonsoiturra.com/
Yep you are right about that...Mr Iturra is from Chile...thanks for that....his basses are fabulous.

It's time for me to move this bass on. It is a really cool bass with a high spec. But I am looking to trade, The pics and spec can be found here.... http://www.mygear.com/items/view/14465 I paid to import this bass about a year ago . Like I said it is a really cool bass but not what I am after. I am open to trade especially for basses that have an 'ultra burp' in their sound arsenal. I am looking primarily for another 5 but then again I am open to trade for any nice bass of similar value..try me..... I am based in Slough (berks). CMON ! show us what you've got you never know..... Here are some more pics .

SOLD - Ashbury Electro-Acoustic Fretless 4-string
alembic1989 replied to largo's topic in Basses For Sale
It doesn't choke on any other string, and my guess is taking a bit of tension out the neck will cure it. I'll maybe try that tomorrow, and stick a straight edge (steel ruler) along the board to see if it's raised at a particular spot. It doesn't really choke, just more a buzzy note if that makes sense ! Open to suggestions on how I might cure this.
Hi, how did you get on with the neck....sorted? -
SOLD - Ashbury Electro-Acoustic Fretless 4-string
alembic1989 replied to largo's topic in Basses For Sale
I have a 4-string Ashbury Electro-Acoustic Fretless Bass, like this one click here Bought it on BC, and have now realised I'm not a fretless player. Don't really play it so looking to sell it on for the price I paid, £120 + £20 P&P Comes with a gig bag. The string chokes/buzzes a little around the 10th - 12th fret on the G string but still a bit of fun to have lying around the house for the right person. Guess it's easily fixed with a decent setup or new bridge, just can't be rsed.
Hi, any idea why it's choking in that particular place? Is there a high spot on the fretboard? Does it choke in the same spot on the other strings? -
Here are some pics of my Morley pro flanger...I have owned it from new (1980). it's mains operated and the pedal can be operated in "auto mode"...or "manual mode"...here the sweep rate of the flanger can be controlled manually using the foot pedal. This is a "proper" Morley (pre 1983)..and is a really pretty unique piece of kit. I even have the original box, manual and packing!! there is hardly a mark on it. I will be putting it up for sale eventually (er...but then again maybe not..but the again...etc...).
Fook me , that really is a beauty! If you can, get some sound clips up on here, would love to hear what she sounds like. Whats going on with the B string at the bridge? EDIT: Just read the thing bout no sound clips. Perhaps someone living near this fella with recording capabilities might be able to help in this area????
the maker used a warwick tailpiece (I think)..and the fat low B is just a little too fat for the slot....

I think it looks nice.
Work of art! Haven't seen any other of his, love the body shaping. Any chance of a full length pic?
Happy to oblige...full length pics now added. Unfortunately I lack the facilities to do a sound clip.

Bought this bass a while back and had it upgraded with an East preamp. It has a huge sound and very hifi sounding. It is a real beauty, the woods are killing . and I love the way the thru body design spills over on to the fretboard. The top is rippled olive wood, and the back is figured bubinga..and it weighs an absolute ton....but I sort of like heavy basses anyway.
Great bass and obviously one you feel really 'at home' on because of the time you have spent working with it. It looks very tactile and funky. I would love to try one! ped
next time you are in the windsor/slough area pop round for tea and play it...
Wishbasses come unfinished, having him finish it is an extra, and he doesn't advise it (I wouldn't either), much better to consider them a blank with all the machinery requiring part done for you. I took a week ever christmas saning mine and then a few evening over a month feeding it oil, pretty pleased with how it came out. I like the thick neck, like a big classical guitar. What woods are there? Mines a purpleheart/maple neck with maple walnut sandwich body wings.
Hi, I like the fat neck too. The woods are nicely figured mahogany for the top...and some really cool green poplar for the back..it is a really amazing green colour with some nice figure. I think the neck is the same as yours (maple/pupleheart). I did the same as you..about a week of sanding and feeding it with oil (teak oil) and then finally finishing wax.
