  1. On top of that, I got a new flat mate in the late 80's and he was like "You're alright Chewie, but you need to get into this....." and he dropped me a couple of Budgie albums. Bandolier & In For The Kill......... Man, that was a seminal moment. Burke Shelley's voice and his P-bass........ Life changer......
  2. I was mad into Talking Heads..... still am now......... the movie of Stop Making Sense was the first production which made me cry with joy. I didn't know what was going on........!! It still gets me on my feet now. I know it's not a seminal bass album but It changed my life. Corny but true.
  3. Totally agree with Penthouse and Pavement............
  4. Definitely BSSM by RHCP although I also love the underestimated One Hot Minute......... Emergency On Planet Earth Betty Davis and They Say I'm Different by Betty Davis.......... Dad Man Cat by Corduroy Fantastic by Wham! I still can't accept that's Andrew Ridgeley!! Fresh Fruit For Rotting Vegetables Anything with Tina Weymouth........

  8. That'll be you told, then. Ha ha..........! I really felt that crackle of tension too.....! Perhaps they had the same girlfriend??
  9. Cheers GuyR, That's good to hear...... In a nice way........ Actually there was a Belgian guy on here telling me it is a tell tale sign of originality. A bit like shrinking scratch plates... Just more scary!!! I took it to a guy in Bristol called Martin Bailey......... he didn't think there was anything wrong with it and reckoned I had the relief too tight..... I wonder if the position of the neck to the body might need a fart of adjustment?
  10. Cheers BassBod, I'm gonna give him a bell.....
  11. Thanks for all the info fellas.........
  12. Maybe they didn't prime the wood before the paint job?
  13. Ha ha....... I am a numpty.......... It is indeed road worn.......... Ha ha!
  14. These are the business..... I just got hold of one and am over the moon.......... GLWTS........
  15. Paulie is spot on...... I just got hold of one of these, with stack knobs and it is lovely. I was shocked. The body is even cut thinner like the old days..... You really notice it looking at the headstock.... I'm dead chuffed.......... GLWTS....
  16. It’s like they’re painted black.......?
  17. I’m tempted to clean these poles up a bit........... The bass isn’t the loudest either.......
  18. To be honest, I’ve just got hold of a road worn jazz bass with stack knobs on it & I wondered about having it done in shell pink.......
  19. I was at Reading in 1991 when Cobain came out in a wheelchair........... I can't remember if the RHCP did their flaming pith helmets that year but back then, Reading was awesome.........
  20. Evening all............ Can anyone recommend somewhere to get a bass refinished? I'm in Swindon so south west would be handy but I'm not worried about traveling a bit. Cheers guys......... and gals........
  21. You might want to offer someone £20 for the effort mate.... That might do the trick.
  22. Man, that looks like a whole world of fun in there!!!!!
