1. I've pointed a few "wanted" ads in your direction and they often say they PM'd you without reply. Its gonna take a long time to sell like that.
2. You should be able to pick up 4ohm Peavey 2x10s - there are normally some for sale here. AT the other extreme there is an EBS 2x10 going as well.
3. Looking good - nice to see a Shuker Jazz with a proper head - just dont look right with 2 up 2 down. Why did you not want the front bookmatched?
4. Brilliant!
5. Why not bring it to the bash at Guildford?
6. Apparently the design reverted to Warwick upon Johns untimely death.
7. Look at the context of my post. I dont mind people posing dumb questions and I quess we need to update the wiki to state the bleeding obvious, it was the response to the answers that I objected to.
8. There is a difference between wanting to know and like being told.
9. Welcome back
10.
And just for future reference, I'm well aware of what an amp head like the soundcity is (which was just an example), a pre and power amp in one neat package rather than a split combination.
Why ask such a dumb question then?
11. You wont find much walking electric bass. The whole point of the "new" instrument was not to duplicate the sounds of the old.
12. Not being funny - but why would someone with quality gear be interested in that rubbish?
13. Oh him!
14. Replacing those horrid little speakers with some 18 inch big boys might help as well.
15. You can use it as A & B and A + B, so you can use the T & B channel then add the parametric mid to it. I dont think it is intended to replace a proper pre amp unless you use it as 1 channel then its not a lot different from a HD350. EBS used to do a 1u pre but I think they stopped it now. The Gallary will rush you £850 for one!
16. Who?
17. Used to once, even got a CSE in music which does not sound very impressive but I did not do the course - just the exam! Never used it since. I will write down chord charts but other than that I learn by ear. Funny being in a jazz band and reading dots. Most of jazz is about improvisation unless its a big band when everyone has to play the same for the unison bits.
18. Thats the thing about wiki - anyone should be able to create something on the wiki from this - or is it resticted?
19. Thats the most sensible thing you have said
20. Welcome - maybe we should change the name to basschat-sussex.co.uk!
21. You might want to bring it along to this - you never know?
22. Sounds like a warp to me - thats not good. Best take it to a tech but you should be able to see it by looking down from the head to the bridge. I've seen warps on the best, Pre EB Rays, Wals, 80's Fenders were about 50/50!
23. Just turn them on the side!
24. Hi Alan and welcome. You might be interested in this
25.
Other than that, i do try and play one or two songs at gigs without the pick but only the slow ones at the moment.
Good place to start as this is where a pick sound does not fit - I play all the slow songs with my fingers. I guess if none of the other suggestions is practical you are just gonna have to persevere and build up from there.
