1. Will........not............take............the...............bait
2. So which will be the first in "For Sale"?
3. Never ever get tired of watching that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
4. Glad to see you are still keeping the faith - unlike Shockwave
5. why dont you try using it?
6. I dont mean to be picky and I have already upset Burpster, BUT you guys keep coming up with cheaper alternatives to the ER's that are frankly crap. Look at the attenuation published on their website: CE Mark attenuation data (sorry cant get it to format properly. Freq. (Hz) 63 125 250 500 1k 2k 4k 8k Mean attenuation 13.9 16.1 19 22.7 25 32.2 41.1 36.9 Thats not exactly flat! Great if all you want to hear is bass mind!
7. Ever heard of google? With Combat (the Tokyo guitar workshop) he also had them make several other basses of his own design. One he describes as "a Spector meets Prince's guitar", another a Rickenbacker meets Prince's guitar and the final, his signature, is a copied body from a Gretsch semi acoustic bass guitar coupled with a solid ash body which was then sprayed with sparkling gold paint.
8.
Please define how economics is bollocks? £122 as opposed to £55 + £2 P+P for essentialy the same thing....? "uep 88 £55.00 + £2.00 p&p Our 'Bio blocker full shell', features unique ULTIMATE in ear technology, so the plug is shaped within the confines of the ear. Additionally the UEP 88 is easy to keep clean providing years of use. We are so confident in our product it comes with a two year guarantee." Let other folks make their own minds up and stop preaching, its boring. For those that are interested and dont think I'm talikng bollox, I have a set of U.E. IEMs which I use for my bike, they are excellent for that application and would use them on stage but the bass response is weak due to the teeny speaker. when playing live I dont play at volumes that make ears ring so I dont have an issue. The IEMs that U.E produce are very comfortable when worn for very long periods (10+hrs) and mine have done lots of miles in the last 4 years and still sound fresh. I also use U.E blockers for shooting and and have an attenuated pair for big rifles. I have no business interest in U.E. but have had other brands in the past. U.E.s service and knowledge have been the best I have dealt yet. They are also by far the most comfortable ones I have had.
"uep 83 £165.00 + £5.00 p&p The ER is the plug for musicians. It's unique filters offer flat response attenuation, which basically means they follow the natural frequency response of the ear, but attenuated at either 9, 15 or 25 decibels. Interchangeable filters all in a custom plug, for extra comfort and seal ability." Thats five pounds more than I paid for mine. OK they do sell other plugs for less but are they essentially the same thing? Who makes that call? And I would not use motorcycle or shooting plugs on stage - they are not designed for it.
9. That didn't work very well did it The circle round the outside is -ve, the dot in the middle is +ve
10. Centre pin posetive - like --C[sup].[/sup]-+
11. Sorry I dont understand the question. There is no right and wrong. If it sounds good then it is good, if it sounds sh*t it is sh*t. Some of us playing active basses keep them flat, some have everything turned up to 11 - which of course means there is nowhere to go, whereas if you turn the amp up to 11 you can then go up to 22 on the bass. Its not right or wrong though - different strokes. Likewise effects. I use an active bass into a compressor into a preamp into an amp. Others use loads of effects, others use none.
12.
When adaptors are so easy, cheap, and small, why the hell can't they just build them into the pedals?
Its often cos the people that make the pedal are c**ts who want you to use their adapter. The only way to find out the polarity of the DC for the Samson Airline wireless is to buy the adapter cos the connection on the pedal is not marked. Or ask me.
13. WOW! Been playing it for 28 years and I never knew all that. I just play it
14.
Thats a bit harsh!
You know me Dan, if I think someone is talking bollocks I'll say so - IMHO of course.
15. Never heard of them. They have a dealer in Cardiff so someone that lives there can have a look. Now who lives in Cardiff?
16. Have you got an updated list?
17. Have you got an updated list?
18. Hey Nick, you get through more amps than I do socks You should have bought my EBS rig. Still waiting for you to come round and try my MBII
19. As I have said in the sticky (this is so important I am prepared to repeat myself), I found the ER20's most uncomfortable. I am sure I am not alone. The ER moulded plugs can be fitted for IEM. Not sure why the Burpster is talking bollocks? The ER9/15/25 are the same price! There are some cheaper plugs that dont appear to be actually designed for music that are cheaper. If they are not as good as the ER's then they are not better value for money. Who wants sleeping plugs?
20. +1 for through body TIJF - so far so good anyway. I thing this is in one of the myriad of threads on this subject or maybe the basschat wiki. It has come up before.
21.
Here's a shot of the back panel, not very clear but might give an idea. Good shot of Jack Bruce's Eq settings too! http://www.cortmi.ua/article/e-catalogues/...chure_final.pdf
Jack Bruce used 2 rigs at the Cream reunion - the other was the opposite so I guess it was a kind of bi-amp using the tone controls Getting back to the original question, an EBS HD350 with a two gain control tube like my Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0, and the footswitch options you get with the Neo-Gorm, weighing in stupid light like the Genz, would be about it.
22. Looks cool. Like the idea of the motorised pots. Ampeg did an amp a few years back that had 4 different settings of gains and eq that could be saved but it never caught on. I thought it was a really good idea (but not good enough to actually buy one )
23. I love it when somebody revives a 3 month old thread out of the blue
24. I am waiting for a polarity reverse cable. Diago are out of stock and the one I ordered from Charlie Chandlers has not come yet so that must be out of stock too. Its really annoying that having spent loads on a power supply it did not come with all the cables I wanted. I suppost this makes a good case for the Sansamp and EBS pedals - at least you can power them.
