2.
hi Ian, if you file the saddles correctly, you will get more sustain than from the pre cut saddle Badass Ian
You cannot be serious
3. I had one of these. Pimped it up so it was even heavier. Nice bass.
4. Is it a trick of the light or is that neck really f***ing wide?
5.
There are several sizes and different fittings, I found that out when I fitted the Schaller M4S to a Mighty Mite/Fender neck. The holes drilled in the headstock can vary from 12 to 20mm. The M4S that I have require a 17mm hole and the hole in the headstock were 18mm. Any how back on subject according to the Schaller site the M4 requires a 12mm hole so anything alot bigger would require doweling and re-drilling.
Take your word for it. When I got my ultralights they come in 1/2 and 3/8 inch sizes.
6. Hey guys if he wants to try and sell it for more than a new one thats up to him. Wish I could live on a planet where you can buy new stuff, use it and sell it on and get your money back.
7.
Very nice - but what's going on with the stringing at the headstock?
Obviously does not believe in the benefits of a straight run over the nut.
8. Find out what SWR use - get them.
9. £600 is not alot for that sort of money unless you trawl the For Sale section on here. Looking at new the Hartke LH500 is getting rave reviews, and Peavey offer good back for the buck. Avoid the real budget stuff unless you are really strapped.
10. Hope you have a roadie!
11. Ultralights will definitely help because of the weight being at the end of the headstock, but not sure that would be enough. Grippy straps help.
12.
oooh.... ! A new Flea Bass in the making !!! Can't wait to see what spec it is...... I'll buy it ofcourse !!
Why? If its a great bass then yes but not just cos its got Flea's name on it. Is your name Marcus or is that more idol worship? Be yourself.
13. First pub gig for years (drummer recon's 20) was really good. All the young people were bopping away at the bar
14. See the basschat wiki for all things compressed
15. What does Martin use? Get one of them if its not just a full flight case. I know some unusual basses on come in proper flight cases like Buzzards.
16. Loads of music shops do folding keyboard or drum stools.
17.
Warwicks, mine plays on its own,the only reason im selling it is because it drives its self,it is a very funky machine,i have come to the conclusion that i cant control active eqs.

There's an active 3 band in my Thumb 5 and I almost never touch it - just a bit of low boost when I really want to rattle my trousers on stage! Just because it's there doesn't mean you need it IMO.
+1 - why does everybody assume cos they have actives they need to turn it all up to 11?
18.
Roundwounds are fine on fretless basses, in fact you get far more mwah with rounds than you'll ever get with flats or grounds. Flats sound too much like a upright on fretless, that's fine if you want that sound.
I would disagree that you more mwah with rounds than grounds. You will get more mwah with some rounds than with some grounds, but my experience with grounds is that some sound like flats and some sound like rounds and everything in between. It can get a bit costly finding the right ones. I am using Status Hotwire halfs at the moment - lots of mwah
19.
mr ferret if i had time like you to come on here id be alright lol
I have tried to help with so many of your attempts to sell stuff. If you want to sell stuff then you have to SELL IT! Take the pictures before you decide to post on here. All those that have already looked at this wont bother coming back.
20.
I'm suprised about the comments about weight actually, my corvette LTDis lighter than other basses i've owned and my Stingray five is noticably heavier than it.
YMMV
21.
Yes it was in a shop for that long, so I`m told, unless he bought it in new from somewhere else....in fact I feel ripped because the guy who owns the shop is a ...well kinda like a friend. Someone I know very well and have done work for at a discount rate (I feel a rage coming on) But I was hoping for a possible £200. Am I being too optimistic?
Times are hard but thats not unreasonable. Its gonna be in a lot better nick than mine that had a damn good thrashing for 10 years before I retired it.
22. Maple necks are normally lacquered so like the man says you will need to refin after pulling the frets out anyway so just use a tougher laquer.
23. Look on the basschat wiki. I dont get a flat tone from my Status Hotwire halfs.
24. Must admit did a double take then - I used to keep mine in an Ibanez case as well! Its difficult to price and I dont understand how you bought something that was made in 1995 new a couple of years ago - was it hanging on the shop wall for 10 years? The £450 paid above was absolutely top dollar and I would expect to get considerably less unless you are very lucky.
