1. Psycho Andy sold his '78 Jazz in 6 hours Same old same old
2. There is info on lots of 112 cabs on the basschat wiki. I like my Genz Benz Shuttle Neox112T rig but you might find it a bit hifi. Might be worth taking a trip up to Mark as Bassdirect to try the GB and Berg cabs.
3. Welcome back
4. must admit am at a loss to understands Mike's question
5. Its probably our fault for having so much porn on the site
6. Not as good as yesterdays porn
7. A limiter is just a compressor with high ratio etc. There is a good explanation on the basschat wiki. Some would have a compressor first in the effect chain to give the other effects a fatter and more consistant signal, particularly effects that sould different depending on the input signal.
8.
snip...The only thing is, to gig them as they are so expensive, it would break your heart. Can still remember the first nick of a hi-hat- now I use my marcus miller-doesnt sound or play anything like but I know a nick or two doesnt matter.
I always gig with my GB's. I did not buy them not to play them.
9. Larry Graham cant be wrong:)
10. There are two sized posts - any look on the interweb will show that. Buy the right ones.
11. I have not liked the neck on most that I have played bit did try one that was loverly. They also tend to be heavy cos of the woods used although I have tried a coupe of light ones, but they had the neck problem.
12. I have just ordered some stuff online. Most of the sellers I looked at had no information about whether the stuff I wanted was in stock, and emails were not answered. I ended up ordering from 3 different sites and paid 3 lots of P&P cos they were the only sites that said what I wanted was in stock. Already got 2 of them and I only ordered on Sunday.
13. One good 115 is better than 2 crap ones. Get one of Alex's cabs.
14.
I must be the only one here not that familiar with Jeff Berlin. I've heard of his name before, only from some mentions on BC. Gather he's a bit controversial. His tache reminds me of someone else though Cool!
15. Make sure you try before you buy - MB cabs dont seem to be as popular as the amps.
16. Depends if you are buying or selling
17. Was there one at the bash?
18. Where didi you decide to put it - Bernie and I were talking about this the other week.
19. Looks like a great day. Maybe next time.........................
20. lots of choice out there and I have listed lots of the currently available 112 cabs on the basschat wiki. I would be inclined towards the Aguillar DB for your sound but its not that light.
21.
8x 9v at 500ma would still work for most pedals, certainly would be fine for 8 boss pedals or similar, wouldnt it??
Depends on the pedals. So draw almost nothing. My EBS MBII draws 10ma. 15ma if using phones.
22.
Did Keane have a bass player? A tape, or was the keyboard player metronomic?
I have seen them with a bass player hidden in the wings. Must still be doing it even though they have gone guitar and lost their USP.
23. I still say try halfs - I use Status Hotwires. Fretless vibrato can be played classical style by rolling your fingers up and down the string rather than bending.
24. Yep - use halfs. Look on the basschat wiki.
25. Wot no pointy bits?
