1. Just zoomed the picture - it is 500ma total (Max Combined current for all 9v DC outputs: 500ma).
2. Problem is there is nowhere to find more info with Harley Benton being Thommans own brand - it does give the impression its 500ma per outlet. It is like a T-rex fuel tank (but a bit bigger) for a quarter of the price. The Fuel Tank is 1,500ma total.
3. If its 500ma each thats probably more juice than any other power supply on the market so I think it unlikely.
4.
He's referring to people on this forum ..
I dont know who the f*** else he thought I was referring to. Doh.
5. Alex Clabber has some. Prose bass is selling a bass with one fitted.
6.
Hummmmmm you are not alone .. Also what were they doing reviewing a Bag End ("not available in the UK") and not doing a Schroeder - available in the UK via SHX, and popular on BC ... or Markbass - available on every high street???
Most music mags just review what they get sent - hence what people regarded as an unnatural fondness for reviewing Warwick stuff. SHX may not have had a cab available or maybe they were not asked.
7. Lots of us wont tell you what to buy because we dont know if you like the same thing as us. Some will tell you to buy what they use, or what they are selling Seeing as you live in London and are much closer to some bass-tastic shops than we are, we might think you are a lazy f***er who cant be arsed to put any effort into deciding what to buy.
8. Didn't we already decide these are sexed up SX basses from the same factory but costing a lot more? Or did I imagine that?
9. Falling prices are only an issue if you are selling and not buying. Its like the papers talking up negative equity into a national catastrophe (despite the fact that until recently mortgages over 100% were immediately creating negative equity). Negative equity is only an issue if you are just selling, downsizing or cant pay the mortgage, yet people panic and do stupid things.
10. Pretty sure all the rock school, ACM, BIMM etc do this stuff and also summer schools. Its not very rock and roll though. Elvis never went to school - nor did Miles.
11. Duck is nearly as great as Jamerson. Better gurning too
12. £400 is about right - sold both mine fore there abouts.
13.
With the exception of electric guitars and electric basses, what other musical instruments have significant stylistic variation within the species? You never hear a trumpet player complaining about the fact that all trumpets look the same. S.P.
Dizzie Gillespie?
14.
Strange. Check out Bongomania's review. He reckons far more probs with active hot signals with an EBS?
Even odder as the EBS has an input pad and internally adjustable threshold!
15.
Compressor wiki
Well done fella!
16. On the basis that Markbass amps appear to be a lot more popular than Markbass cabs, make sure you try before you buy.
17. Feel free to come and take the piss

Pedaltrains?

What are you using as a power supply?
20. There are lots of options. The Carl Martin is a proper compressor limiter with a full set of knobs, look for second hand in your budget. T-rex do a nice looking valve compressor but that is new and expensive so dont expect to see any used. DHA also does a valve compressor. I use an EBS but it does have a pad for hot basses - not sure if dannybouy had/used that. The thing is active/passive switches can be misleading depending on how you use your actives. I always gain from flat so if I give it loads of boost I roll back the volume to compensate.
21. Had Dark Side Of The Moon on all week for some reason
22. Its cheap enough but very bulky compared to some of the more expensive competition. If you get a wall wart with enough juice like the EBS you can daisy chain off that. I need 12v as well so I am gonna have to spend a ton on something like a T-rex fuel tank.
23. All you r gonna get is loads of posts of people recommending what they use. There is a world of difference between the sound of just the stuff thats already been mentioned without the recommendations for Ampeg and Ashdown that are sure to follow. Without having any clue of your requirements other than watts and price I am not going to recommend anything.
