1. You paid top dollar for it! Have you tried new strings?
2.
Where's Mr SMART with the gossip he promised us !!! ???
Probably working on a new avatar
3. Whats the problem? GB are the UK distributers. The Bass Centre and the Gallery get their EBS from GB. Unless you are going to collect it will come in the same box no matter where you get it from
4. Like everyone else says - EBMM are very careful about where the pups go. As for the bass, not a million miles away from a Darkstar Duck Dunn?
5. DR do coated strings in foxy colours but they dont seem to be well liked by those that have tried them.
6. PM sent.
7. £799 in GAK! Get an EBS one for that price - nearly.

Pedaltrains?
From what I hear the tone trunk is very flimsy. I only use pedaltrains now it's such a pain in the arse setting anything up that doesn't have slats.
Had a look at a Tone Trunk today in GAK and it felt solid enough. No pedaltrain to compare it to though.
9. Like I said - this site needs a smiley for DOH!
10. Unlined all the way. Unless you play like Quasimodo you wont be able to see the lines anyway. Unlined with the dots (or LED's) on the fret positions and one for the first fret is the way I go. I have seen some fretless basses with fretline markers cut across the corner of the fingerboard so they are more visible if you know what I mean. Not sure what is the point of getting a 6 string signature model of a guy that only plays 4 strings though
11. The name is on the headstock - just google it. What this forum needs is a smiley for DOH!
12. Nice collection. I noticed that the headless Status is just as long as the headed basses given the need to recess the bridge. Interesting in the light of some recent threads.
13. Used to have a Bassballs. Don't actually remember what I did with it
14. I use one of these
15. To be fair Ian you have tried to sell this rig about 8 times
16. computers are not Bernies strong point
17. Not sure why everyone is telling you to get a 5 string Lots of options are available - just look at For Sale. If you are looking to buy new then there are a few specialist bass shops. The Gallery in London is a lot of peoples go to shop. There is also the Bass Merchant in Essex, Overwater in Carlisle for those oop north, not sure if the Bass Centre in London has reopened. Get this months Bass Guitar magazine and you will find a few shops running ad's.
18. Not used either of them. I thought the Super Redhead was the pukka SWR combo. What about Eden Metro and EBS NeoGorm, Meas walkabout and Buster?
19.
Well I would have thought it would be a DI taken from his amp.
Or even from a DI box. The point is that the sound on telly (or live for that matter) tells you f*** all about the sound of the bass and cabs, and everything about the ability or otherwise of the soundman.
20.
a pair of the 1x12's, they farted out at the merest twitch of the bass knob!

Ah a comprehensive test of the EBS range then.
Yes the 112's dont take a lot of bass - only to be expected from a cab the size of a shoe box. If you want big bass you need a bigger cab. I never found my 212 lacking.
21. As each bass is bespoke the only way to get a price is to speak to Bernie. Solid colours are cheaper than fancy woods. Mine were £1800 and £1500 but that was a few years ago.
22. Hard to tell from that picture what the pups are, but most GB's have GB pups.
23. here
24.
................I was listening to Level 42 live at Reading the other morning, and Mark Kings sound was awful...............
And why is that - the bass or the signal chain through the PA?
