1. this is all the the basschat wiki
2. OR look on the basschat wiki
3. Have a look on the basschat wiki
4. Ric-o-sound is a stereo setup where the signal from each pickup can go to a seperate amp via a splitter or Y lead as in this thread. A longer Y cable made that can go from bass -> each amp having less contact points to break the signal would be best. A splitter or short Y obviously has to have a mono lead into each side.
5. Anyone watching it? Its not really my beverage but its good to listen to a pit band really doing their stuff, having to churn out whatever Lloyd w***er wants them to play tighter than a gnats chuff. Some of the lasses are quite nice to look at as well.
6. Dont understand? You already have a ricky with a stereo output? So how is this different to using a stereo split lead like all other ric-o-sound users? All I can say is it will look sh*t, probably get broken and is 3 things to pull out not one. Ok its sheap but I would get OBBM to make me a proper lead.
7. I got mine from specsavers but they all seem to be about the same price.
8.
Why not try a thick rubber door mat, less then a fiver from Tesco
Cos it sounds better? I use mine where I know there is a boomy stage. It works.
9.
You've no idea how this might affect the tone! I doubt very much whether it'd sound like your old cab but lighter in weight. Not saying it will be worse but it will almost certainly sound different. You 'might' be better off selling the Ampeg and buying a Neo equipped cab, at least you'll be able to try before you buy Just my thoughts.
+1
10. Personally I am sick of all these I hate..., I dont like... threads that keep coming up. Its not a mature thing to post and hopefully they will grow out of it. If you must promote discussion - say what you like/love.
11.
Don't really hate it, just don't really like it. Hate how every bassist is expected to love and embrace funk though, I'm competent at it but give me some Post/Prog Rock/Metal, British Folk or some serious Jazz over funk any day. Anyone else feel similarly?
I dont burden you with my personal problems so why should you burden me with yours. You may get to like it when you grow up, you may not. Thats your problem.
12. There is a pair of Accugroove Tri-112's for sale.
13. Welcome, Mathew with one T!. Nice welcome innit when someone tells you your name is spelt wrong
14. Welcome Brian. You will find Status quite popular on here but more the King than the Rhino. Maybe people dont like horns
15. EBS is top gear. They have just got new neo versions to bring on GAS again.
16. Flight cases are well worth getting if you travel a lot/tour or use a van but if you use your own car on the local curcuit they are a bit OTT. They are heavy and should only be carried by roadies, and they can really mess up your car.
17. not seen one of those self adhesive pick holders for years
18.
Minty, the limiting factor in your current system is not necessarily your amp. It's probably the 2 x 10. The cheapest way of sorting your system out would be to find someone willing to swap your 4 ohm 2 x 10 for an 8 ohm version. That shouldn't actually cost anything and it will re-balance your system. If you think that's an option, I'd be glad to explain why it should work.
How is having an 8 ohm 2x10 with a 4 ohm 1x15 going to help?
19. Whats the SP? Nothing on the Lakland website.
20. That is SEX! Does not ring my bell quite as much as the last one sold on here did so I am resisting for now. Ian has a King Bass Artist 5 string and he might be interested as he was after a Spitfire.
21. Must have fallen out with Muff then.
22. I wont tell you what to buy because you may have different taste to me. I would be inclined to avoid MarkBass cabs because they dont seem to match the standards of the amps.
23. That is down to the dealer and/or distrubutor. I have no doubt that if my new GenzBenz Shuttle (when I finally get it) goes pop and is a long job to fix then Mark will lend one of his demonstration amps until the faulty amp is repaired, as he would with any of his customers. OTOH if someone had a problem with this Shuttle even if they successfully bullied Mark into sorting it under warranty he is under no obligation whatsoever to provide them with an alternative amp.
