1. Dont think there are enough in the UK to from an opinion. Not until the boat comes in
 2.
Carol Kaye, who's discography speaks for itself
What she actually played or what she said she played?
 3.
Either: Just use one of the cabs? Whichever one sound best. Cost is zero. Or: Sell the cabs and buy 2x8 ohm cabs or one 4 ohm cab. Cost is lots.

Or, sell the LM2 and buy something that will run down to 2 Ohms. Even in the current climate it shouldn't be hard to shift an LM2.
My bad. I should not have assumed he would want to keep the shiny new amp and ditch the old Peavey cabs
 4. Try them all and buy the one you like best. Chuck the Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0 and various other MB amps in the pot as well.

 6.
Gerald Reese Slapstrap http://www.slapring.com/en/shop/productinf...trap_divine.php I have a few of these on various basses. They are infinitely adjustable and very easy to adjust as it is done with velcro, they do not have the neoprene stretch and bounce effect and if you plan to get them get the ones wih the suede on on the underside. They are softer and grip to your shoulder better.
250 USD! I hope they are worth it!
 7. Carol Kaye on all Jamersons greatest hits
 8.
All credit to Mr Hevos though, he DID return two of my emails during that time. Apparently they are prepared to send an amp out if paid for on 8 day approval or return.
So what have you ordered?
 9. Just thrown some Roxy on the CD player - forgot how good it was.
 10. What he said. The bass chair in roxy had a lot of bums on it.
 11.
Arrrrrrgh my iAmp is off to it's new owner tonight i need my shulttle!
I did that with my HD350 and was lucky enough to buy another one
 12.
It looks like the Sound Control business model was flawed because the market is too small. It could probably have worked if they had built up franchise-based business. That's one of the ways of guaranteeing good service. I think some of the hi-fi chains works on that basis.
It would have worked better had they not f***ed off so many potential customers.
 13.
Bass ferret, do you have any specific examples of manufacturers selling to large European retailers at prices that would allow the latter to sell at below trade cost?
I am sure it was mentioned in the Sound Control going tits thread. I am convinced that Sound Control would have fared a lot better had they provided a quality service. I know the EBS distributer personally as can be deduced from the basses I play. He is not making a fortune doing it. I also know that Sound Control had negotiated a sizeable discount because of their selling power then ordered like one pedal at a time. It is a business and high street shops can never compete with internet warehouses. But then again I like to give a little more consideration to buying gear than I do buying CD's.
 14. There are not many cabs like that and IIRC they can be bi-amped as well. Not sure if that bypasses the crossover but I think it does, designed to be used with something with a crossover and a separate power amp - Peavey were into that big time. This might do the job.
 15.
If I read it right the recording was a single mike in the middle of the r/h space, which will not help for the recording.
Thats a polite way of saying you may as well record it on your phone. Save up and book some studio time if you are serious about a demo.
 16. 1.No. I drove a T-max at 2 ohms for years. 2.Not many. Even Peavey dont drive 2 ohm loads now. Used T-max combo maybe? EBS combo's will drive 2 ohms but they are "only" 350 watts and f***ing expensive. You could get a Dr Bass Airhead from Robbie - you can stick any amp in one of them. 3.There is much better gear than what you have - but if you are happy with it why change. You could look at an amp that will give you more power into your cab. Is your cab the one with a 15" ,10" and tweeter? 4.The world is your lobster - I wont tell you what to buy. If you like Peavey then get a new one - they are good VFM.
 17. The technical answer is another cab gives you an extra 3dB and will be audiably louder but not twice as loud. I would get another 2x10. Sounds to me like you are getting to the volumes when you need to start thinking about a serious PA and put drums and bass etc through the PA. And get some ear plugs.
 18. Does not say on the website what the tuning is so I'm guessing wild hybrid on the bassis that the bass starts at E. There was a guy using one of these on this weeks Later live show but the song was not repeated on the pre-recorded show so draw your own conclusions from that. I was not impressed. Tell the guitarist to play the guitar parts or get a rhythm guitarist if you need one. Or play basslines that cover both but that can sound a bit sh*t cos its neither one thing or the other.
 19.
If I wanted to have 2 basses plugged in at the same time I would get one of these. Oh, I have.

I have a 24 channel 1u rack mixer that takes care of all that right now.
You need another 22 basses then
 20.
That's how the car industry maintained its outrageously high prices in the UK for so many years. It doesn't actually cost a distributor anything to fix a product under warranty - they charge it back to the manufacturer. And if what you say about EBS is true, it's illegal under EU law. Why should anyone buy new gear from Europe if the UK distributor is offering a good deal?
Methinks you want to have your cake and eat it, and you are making big assumptions about the nature of contracts between manufacturers, distributers and retailers. As you may have seen from some of the posts from guys in the business in the UK some of the european sellers who do big numbers buy direct from the manufacturers and sell for less than UK trade price. EBS, like other distributers, cannot sell direct because they are not retailers, credit card merchants, and all the other bits of red tape that retailers need, liability insurance, fire regulations etc etc la di da. As it happens they will offer deals to basschatters but its not something they advertise cos otherwise the retail business will get the right hump.
 21. Exams? Now thats not very rock and roll is it
 22. If I wanted to have 2 basses plugged in at the same time I would get one of these. Oh, I have.
 23.
That bass player sure do know a lot chords. i recorded tuesdays and watched tonights Jules holland.
All those chords on a 4 string. He's obviously not a basschatter or he would know he needs a 6 string to play chords. Good show I thought although the aussies were a bit of a noise. It would be fun playing with the Gutter Twins drummer.
 24. Interesting looking gear.
 25. Ohh exposed, sounds rude. Yes - thats why I got Neox cabs but I think the idea is you take it out for banging around in the back of the transit. I used to like the idea of airheads but you dont see them that often and you would need rack ears for all these little amps.
