1. Just had a looksie on the interweb and they are wedgie but should stack OK on end. The will align all the drivers vertically that should sound better according to the speaker nerds. Something to do with comb filtering with the rigs that bass players have used since the beginning of time. This means that your rig can sound loud or quiet depending on where you are standing in relation to the cabs. Stacking the drivers vertically eliminates this and also brings the cabs closer to ear level for better hearing of.
2. I thought about Robbie and his cricket bat but as I never played one not sure about the weight. Defo got the sound.
3. For lots of reasons I would get another GK210RBH rather than a completely different cab. Not sure if the GK's are convenient for stacking if they are the wedgie things. If you have to stack on the ends a vertical array is better.
4. Bass Collection are very light and lots of basses are made using swamp ash that is also light. Not sure what the USD buys though.
5. Nice collection.
6. They have an extending stage now. Its the barmaids dad's band playing so it's a 3 line whip unless you want her spitting in your beer
7.
Ha ha - I wish! These were all the basses on display at the bass day down in Brighton. Quite a collection appeared as members of the GB family turned up. (We had difficulty finding stands for them all!)
There would have been 2 more then had I come. Must admit it was more interested in the football and completely forgot about it.
8. Letting a 3 year old watch the Blues Brothers. Wait till he quotes when Jake goes to see the penguin "No f***ing way" to his mother like mine did. What you have to remember is that a lot of the Blues Brothers songs come from the Atlantic/Stax back catalog and Duck was the house bass player. Think of him as the Altlantic/Stax version of Jamerson.
9. Sorry mate, but my drinking companions have over-ruled me and we are going to the Duke of Wellington in Shoreham that has good bands and good beer. You should try and get a gig there.
10. Since the first time her poo tube was posted on bassworld
11. have done for a long time
12.
Think I might have to take a trip to Bernie's over the summer, although I'm not sure I'd be prepared for the outcome...
You know it makes sense But then maybe I am biased. Nice collection, presumably all taken before shipping to the happy owners, although I recall back in the days of Bassist magazine there was a guy with half a dozen GB's in the "Readers Basses" section (a bit like readers wives ). Maybe his collection has grown.
13. Even minter than the kitchen roll?
14. The GW link is on the finnbass link plus a few others. I did put it on the wiki but moved it back to finnbass in case I got exorcised.
15. Nice one. There are 3 types of Goodfellow. 1. Bernie started making basses in the 1980's. The guy playing for Paul Weller on Live Aid (the original) is using one. 2. Bernie then did a deal with Lowden to mass produce basses in his name. This bear the Goodfellow name and are often sold as "Hand made by Bernie" but they are not. There have been some on here that I showed him that were not hand made. Bernie got ripped off on the deal so. 3. Bernie started making basses again. He could not use Goodfellow cos he had sold his name to Lowden so he called the new basses GB and the rest is history. This sounds like a type 1. Give Bernie a call. Even if its a Lowden they were good basses.
16. Evening and welcome. Your money goes a lot further second hand and there is usually a quality selection advertised on here. If you are buying new then GK has a good rep on here unlike some stuff thats a bit marmite or of variable mileage.
17. Might pop along.
18. Look here
19.
25 minutes, start to finish. If Bernie was to knock a few quid off the new price, he'd shift a fair few more of 'em!
He will. All you have to do is ask and mention basschat.
20.
I can sympathise with that. Now that Blue-ray has won the DVD format war I thought I would have a look. Players are getting relatively cheap but looking at the software there is hardly anything I would want to buy And I really dont need another bass but there has been some god-awful temptation lately

So, what's missing from the wall display?
There was a lovely Rumour that was thankfully sold before my will power (or wont power) crumbled.
21. Not familiar with the amp but if you can add an extension speaker there will be a speakon or jack for it and it should be labelled with minimum impedence.
22.
Not only that, but I've got money in my Paypal account I can use to buy music, but can't think of an album to buy.
I can sympathise with that. 23. As someone who is old enough to have watched the Wistle Test it did have a lot of Wispering Bobs country crap on it as well. The later punk shows were better.
24. Do whatever sounds best. But if you had an 8x10 it would only have 1 tweeter but with 2 you can split the load. If you like to f*** about alot its probably best just to use 1 so you only f*** about half as much and therefore only annoy the other guys in the band half as much When I had 2 little EBS I used to turn the tweeter off on one and just use the top one. When I started using the 212 I had the tweeter turned up more on that cos the cab was generally louder so it needed more to keep the balance. Not had a play with my new cabs yet as am still waiting for the amp
