Has an xlr connector on the front (complete with its own reverb)
No I haven't. Keep pondering the idea of getting sumfink I can sing through to try and improve my vocals - they f***ing need it
2.
Unless you have got a PA at home how are you gonna try it out? You cant plug a mike into you bass amp. If you want to try it out at rehersal then see if you can hire one from your local PA hire.

Guitar amp.
So how are you going to plug a low impedence mike with cannon 3 pin connector into your guitar amp?
3. Welcome - another bass collection owner. Mine does not get used either.
4.
The obvious examples, going way back, are Jimmy Blanton an amazing player who had a very prominent role in Duke Ellingtons orchestra, there are recordings of him playing a very 'up front' role. FYI the recordings with Jimmy Blanton go back to the very early Ellington days, he played with him for 2 yrs from 1939 a full 37 yrs before Jaco really made an impact with his first solo album of 1976
You are the first person on here apart from me to mention the genius of Blanton.
5. Its a bit like having light and heavy rounds - same effect. Try using lighter guage Labellas or dipping into the murky world of halfs.
6. You guys are turning over gear so fast you make Homer look like a slowpoke.
7. There is only one OBBM
8. Why use a cheap knock off and keep the real thing as a back-up?
9. The funk is is the fingers - you could get all the same gear and still not sound the same.
10. You must be gassing real bad to part with those beauties.
11. ? Yeah. And I gig with my CIJ 58 precision and keep my '58 precision as a backup.
12. Look at his signature!
13. Unless you have got a PA at home how are you gonna try it out? You cant plug a mike into you bass amp. If you want to try it out at rehersal then see if you can hire one from your local PA hire.
14. After 50 odd years there is still only one SM58. You can buy a cheapo copy but an SM58 is for life. You can get them now for about £70 and I really cant see the point in getting anything else.
15. Cheers zapp. Its a KSD V70J, a 70's Jazz style bass made for Ken Smith. Mine has an EBS pre-amp for even more marcus-ness if you want it.
16. Still lost. You are putting the cart before the horse. There is only music - 6 string is what you play it on. If you want to play all the notes play some scales. Its like buying a box of spanners and thinking - what shall I take apart, or getting a ride on mower and wondering what grass to cut.
17. Two very different products. If you want to plug in and play get the Warwick, if you want to spend hours twiddling knobs, get the Line6. Standard advice of try before you buy applies.
18. Or one of these
19. Just get a 70's RI Jazz and stick a J-Retro on it.
20. Well I find fretless easier on my fingers. Welcome.
21. The only way to get a GB pre-amp is to get a GB bass. Cant speak for anything else and I know people have replaced the pre-amps in all sorts of basses.
22. Cripes. Cant move round here without bumping into an HD350 for sale. Do you guys know something I dont?
23. Someone should edit this up and stick it on the wiki for easier reading.
24. Roadkill! Pick em up on the way. If there is not enough elevation go for badgers.
25. nice nice nice. That should hit the spot!
